Full marks here. Our little grand daughter had seen this place earlier in our holiday and was delighted to see that they apparently make Nutella pizzas. However they were always closed when we walked by.

Then, on our last evening in Italy, we made a special detour from Livorno to La Spezia to see if we would be lucky this evening. As we hurried to the place we saw that it was already dark with the shutters half down. BUT one of us ducked under the shutters to politely ask the guy cleaning up if would still be possible to still get something to eat. Remarkably he said yes, he'd be delighted to serve us still.

Well, essentially he opened up the place just for us. He put on the lights on the terrace again and we sat there as he prepared our late evening snack (it was well after 9:30 p.m.). In actual fact he wasn't serving Nutella pizzas but warm focaccia full of the sticky chocolate spread. The girls loved it.

I contented myself with a nice glass of chilled, draft beer as we continued to banter with the vivacious young man who spoke good English but who preferred French which we could manage much better than Italian.

I must say that this put the icing (or should I say Nutella) on the cake of a lovely two weeks in this part of Ligurian/Tuscan...

During our stay in La Spezia, we had the pleasure of visiting Spezialità, Focacceria Bistrò, and it was an absolute highlight. The focaccias are freshly made, incredibly tasteful, and the quality is superb. Each bite was a delightful experience, showcasing the perfect balance of flavors and textures. The establishment was impeccably clean, and the owner was beyond amazing, providing exceptional service with a warm and welcoming demeanor.

Although we did not have much luck with other restaurants in La Spezia, this delightful bistro more than made up for all the less favorable dining experiences. We enjoyed the focaccias so much that we ended up purchasing three extra to have for breakfast the next morning. The thought of starting our day with such delicious focaccia was truly exciting.

I would return in a heartbeat for another taste. My husband and I highly recommend this place. Just go and try it—you will not regret it. The combination of superb quality, cleanliness, and outstanding service makes Spezialità, Focacceria Bistrò a must-visit destination in La Spezia.

Run away! Worst tourist trap in two weeks there, look at the other 1* comments, you pay a ridiculous price for a ridiculous amount of not particularly good focaccia. There are plenty of other restaurants around that offer the same quality with more quantity for half the price.

The only positive point is the waiter Lucca, when he's not forcing you to run up the bill with sleazy dealer tricks. Please Lucca, use your (probably fake) sympathy and dedication in a nicer restaurant.

The owner will most likely respond with fallacious arguments about quality but make up your own mind by comparing the prices with the...

Excellent experience! We ordered the tasting tour of Liguria menu. The lasagna, local products, foccacia and wines were delicious and well paired. We appreciated the thorough explanations and good mood of the owner. He made the effort to do some of the explanations in French, and even taught us a bit of Italian. Highly recommend to book a table here if you go to La Spezia.
