Osteria Il Poeta Contadino — Restaurant in Lecce

Needs to get their kitchen and customer service in order… Zucchini flowers lacked flavour Poplette came out raw (filled with uncooked dough) - they remade the dish, but good customer service would have also comped it off our bill. I couldn’t eat anymore of it when it came back anyway after being put off from the raw dough Ciceria e Tria was floury and not cooked well (which was so disappointing as this was the local dish I was craving on our last night in Lecce!) House white wine had an odd taste Wild Boar Parpadelle was the only dish that had good flavour and seemed to be cooked right

Finally, cherry on top of a very average meal, we got home and looked at our bill and realized they charged us coperto (cover charge) for our 1 year old!!!!! In our 8 days in Italy so far, we have never been charged for her. She ate one piece of bread and two bites of pasta!!!!!

The ambiance is lovely, but the quality and consistency of food and service desperately needs to be improved

Sad this was our last meal in Lecce and feeling burnt by paying 70+ euro for 2 adults and 1 baby for...

I was there with my wife and my daughter. The location looks good, the restaurant is on the small square. The staff was o.k. and thats all. Every other is bad there. Everything is overpriced. My daughter didn't get,what she ordered.They took it back her food, but they forgot to bring it a new one for her. My food was CA.: 150 gramm , and the meat was raw... Oh for 18 euros... For my wife had some "pasta" with shells...itt was 3 pieces shells in the "pasta". Her whole food was just olive .... it was like an olive soup... And they forgot my daughters food...

So we are just paidet the waters and left it this restaurant ... Just one star...because not possible...

We had a truly wonderful experience at Il Poeta Contadino. We were a group of 15 people, and the staff kindly rearranged the tables so we could all sit together comfortably. The service was warm, attentive, and incredibly well-organized from start to finish.

They brought out a delicious selection of appetizers, thoughtfully portioned so that everyone had more than enough to taste and enjoy. This attention to detail really made a difference, especially for a large group like ours. The food was excellent across the board: full of flavor, beautifully presented, and clearly prepared with care.
