If heaven had a coffee shop, it would be Caffé Alfino.

I came for a quick caffeine fix… and ended up questioning all my life choices up until that moment. Why haven’t I been living here?!

Their caffè leccese? Liquid poetry. Espresso meets almond milk and they fall in love in your mouth. With lots of ice, I don’t even like sugar in my coffee, but every sip of this coffee sends me to heaven. I tried caffè lecchese from another place… no comparison. This one by faaar the best.

And the sweets? Oh, the sweets. I don’t know what kind of wizardry is happening in that kitchen, but one bite in and I was ready to write a love letter to a pastry. I almost proposed to a fruttone salentino.

The staff are so friendly, I’m convinced they’re trying to adopt me. Honestly, if they offered me a loyalty card or a room upstairs, I’d say yes.

Very unpleasant experience I would not recommend to visit this place. We tried couple different types of pastry and only one I would eat again. Vanilla cream has strong taste of cornstarch and powder sugar and I couldn't even finish it, it was really bad. Pastry with pistachio filling has too much filling and it was again too sweet to be enjoyable. Coffee has a good taste but the glass or the ice has funky smell like it wasn't properly washed. Service wasn't really friendly, one waiter occasionally even bumped into the customers as he was walking through the caffe. Atmosphere was unpleasant and everyone was watching you to leave, because they dont have enough space for sitting inside. Interior is nice and prices are just little above average but it was the chaotic unfriendly atmosphere that make me happy to leave and...

I stopped for gelato on my stroll home. I ordered vanilla and strawberry. Strawberry was ok, vanilla was bland. The issue is that two different employees were rude: the cashier and the service employee. When ordering the gelato, I was told to “only tell me size now and flavors later” (also in a rude tone). I made sure to greet her in Italian and smiled. This was the response I received. After receiving my gelato, I went outside to sit to eat it. Immediately an employee said, again, quite rudely, “you can’t sit and eat here. This is a service table only. Leave now.”
