I want to live in Tellaro. I want to pack up my bags and just go. And I'm positive the Pensione Ristorante Miramare has a lot to do with this!||||It was a welcome retreat on our whistle-stop tour of this coastline, but we fell in love with the spirit of this homely, restful place. The always smiling owner Emilio (turned 89 years old while we were there) and helpful staff make this place what it is. Service was faultless, we had breakfast each morning at the hotel's restaurant, and chose to have lunch and two dinners during our brief three night stay at this same place. The food is fresh, fantastically tasty - service is quick and always friendly. The restaurant seemed to attract people from outside the hotel as well, and Emilio would walk around chatting with nearly all of the tables - a really personal touch to this place!||||The rooms are simple but comfortable and clean, and we had a lovely view of the harbour and sea from our little balcony. Be warned, quite a few of the rooms are up a few stairs, which didn't bother us. But if you needed to, I'm sure if you requested a lower down room at the time of booking they'd oblige. Because there is no through traffic in Tellaro (it's at the end of a winding, coastal road) it's perfectly quiet. We weren't disturbed at all, and every morning we were woken by the village church bells.||||Driving to the hotel is interesting to say the least, as the roads leading to Tellaro and the surrounding villages are narrow and surprisingly busy at times. But once you get to the hotel there is parking available. The hotel is perfectly placed for exploring Tellaro as it sits at the top of the village and it's just a short walk down to the harbour and shops are just two minutes walk away.||||Without a doubt a place to return to. We wouldn't look at booking anywhere else in or around Tellaro, and we will certainly...

Read moreIm not quite sure exactly how many times weve stayed here now but the fact that we can`t resist going back must say a lot.||This is rated as a two star hotel so if you expect a Hilton type stay then stay away.||Family owned and family run the atmosphere is personal and friendly.||The rooms are simple yet immaculately clean, the dining room similarly so yet the view over the bay, towards La Spezia and Portavenere, stunning. A great way to start the day with breakfast. Amongst the local inhabitants the restaurant has an excellent, entirely justified, reputation and and we found the evening meal to offer an excellent choice always superbly executed by the chef who is, once again, a member of the family.||We take no delight in "luxury", expensive, hotels and if you do then perhaps think twice before booking at Miramare.||But if you enjoy a genuine friendly, caring welcome from a family always anxious to please then give it a try and see if you agree.||......and the position is fantastic.||Perhaps for the easiest access book a room on the second floor where you will be handiest for the car park for your luggage and only a few steps upwards to the marvellous...
