La Barca Tellaro — Restaurant in Lerici

Our appetizers were fabulous and everyone else’s meal was tasty. I had the spaghetti with seafood and the pasta was too al dente. We have lived in Naples for two years and I understand al dente and I prefer my pasta that way. It only needed one more minute to be perfect but I think they decided to rush a bit since my three dining companions had already been served. I ate around it (I know I should send it back but it always feels so awkward) but was asked my the server what was the problem when he noticed. I explained but he insisted that this pasta is strong and was served correctly. Maybe but an unhappy customer presumably is not their business model. My only suggestion is that he could have comped me my dessert, a small gesture but it would have been better than showing me the pasta packet and basically telling my taste buds were wrong. Not only is the food and the service absolutely amazing the staff are wonderful. We were staying nearby and when we did not know who else to turn to for help we returned to the restaurant (days after eating there, not related to their cuisine at all) and they rapidly ran to the kitchen and returned with natural health supplements, medicine and even let us borrow a mobile blood pressure monitor. They then asked if we would like them to call for an ambulance to Lerici and we declined. They then insisted and said if things were not better within a 30-60 minutes time to return and have them call for one. Lunedì 19 agosto io e la mia ragazza ci siamo recati a cena presso la Barca con, a dire la verità, non poco entusiasmo, dato l’affetto che ci lega al borgo di Tellaro e la vista mozzafiato che il ristorante può vantare. Purtroppo, le nostre grandi aspettative sono state tristemente deluse dalla cena che è seguita e, soprattutto, dal conto. Partiamo con due ottimi primi, con l’unico appunto che nella calamarata con zucchine e calamari, di calamari ce n’erano ben pochi. La delusione vera e propria si è consumata con i secondi, per i quali entrambi abbiamo scelto il pescato del giorno, ricciola in tal caso. All’arrivo dei piatti, ci siamo guardati sbigottiti: due porzioni a dir poco ridicole, che la stessa cameriera ha guardato dubbiosa e che hanno decisamente oltrepassato il limite della presa in giro. Indignati da una vergogna simile, non abbiamo preso ne caffè ne dolce e dunque, rullo di tamburi, per due primi, due secondi e due bottiglie d’acqua il conto è stato di soli 52,5€ a testa, una cifra fuori da ogni logica per un trattamento simile e per un servizio alla buona e per nulla pretenzioso. Aggiungo che, non essendo il tipo da sceneggiate melodrammatiche e volendo concedere al proprietario il beneficio del dubbio, pensavo di far notare la scarsità delle porzioni rispondendo alla consueta domanda “La cena è stata di vostro gradimento?” al momento del pagamento. Purtroppo, oltre a comunicarmi il prezzo di 105€, il signore non ha proferito verbo, e non ho così avuto modo, forse stupidamente, di far notare l’inadeguatezza...
