Panificio Raso — Restaurant in Levanto

This amazing little bakery sells the best Focaccia di Recco I’ve ever tasted. The crunchy slightly salty crust on the outside and the soft cheese on the inside.

They also have other local delicacies. We tried different ones: like a Torta di Riso and Gattafin.

The woman was so nice to write the names on the outside of the bags.

This place has a reputation for good focaccia, which I believe it deserves. Nonetheless they obviously treat locals differently from tourists, sometimes making the latter feel they are almost unwanted in the shop. For people who think the quality of the service is as important as what you buy, this is a place to avoid, in particular if you are not Italian/local. The fact that you sell good focaccia should not authorize you to be rude with clients, in particular tourist, who keep the whole Levanto...

I don't usually write reviews for a bakery but this place is exceptional. I'm a bit of a bread addict (at least 10 varieties of bread in my home freezer) and this was a piece of heaven.
