Ingrid — Restaurant in Lipari

Great view, service and antipasti. My wife arrived after me by taxi (I took direct route on foot on via Roma) and was told that the restaurant was closed. However the continuously professional waiter who had greeted me told me the kitchen was closed but there was still a buffet. I have seen. elsewhere someone speaking negatively about the buffet. Let’s set the record straight. (Disclaimer- I was not looking for pizza/pasta) It was in fact not badly priced, it was a heavenly relief from pizza and pasta (even though one place had the most supreme tasting pizza and associated experience so can’t knock it) The view over the water to the old/little Stromboli was as others have said amazing. We should all be eating more Méditerranée food and if this is what it is like I am hooked. Delicious. A large plate of mixed antipasto with pickled tuna and swordfish. I will not dismiss antipasta as an after / side thought again. As an aside I had just been stung by a Pelagia Noctiluca jellyfish, rather uncomfortable. The waiter without question gave me some vinegar on my request, application quickly quenched the pain. Una sorpresa che ci ha lasciati senza parole – Pizzeria Ingrid, Stromboli

Siamo entrati alla Pizzeria Ingrid quasi per caso, durante la nostra prima visita a Stromboli. Eravamo in quattro, con l’idea di fare semplicemente un aperitivo… e invece ci siamo ritrovati dentro un’esperienza che ci porteremo nel cuore.

Abbiamo ordinato due pizze da condividere: una margherita classica e una con il cornicione ripieno. E lì è scattata la magia. Al primo morso, il silenzio. Ci siamo guardati negli occhi increduli, con lo stesso pensiero: “ma cosa stiamo mangiando?”. Una pizza così, davvero, mai provata in vita nostra.

L’impasto è qualcosa di straordinario, si sente subito che non è una semplice base, ma il frutto di passione, tecnica, esperienza. Una consistenza perfetta, sapore pieno, leggerezza e profumo che avvolgono. E gli ingredienti? Di una qualità che ti arriva diretta al cuore. Abbiamo scelto la margherita proprio perché è quella che non perdona – o è buona, o non lo è. Beh, questa è stata la margherita definitiva. In 42 anni di viaggi, locali e pizzerie ovunque… mai mangiata una pizza così buona.

Ma oltre al cibo, c’è stato un altro elemento che ha reso questa esperienza indimenticabile: il signore che ci ha serviti. Non sappiamo se fosse il proprietario o no, ma poco importa. Un’eleganza innata, un modo di vestire stilosissimo e una simpatia brillante, quasi teatrale, che ci ha conquistati fin dal primo momento. Una persona carismatica, attenta, capace di trasmettere tutta la passione che mette nel suo lavoro. Ci ha accolti con calore e intelligenza, e ha saputo rendere speciale ogni attimo.

E poi… la sorpresa finale: i dolcetti tipici alle mandorle, miele e capperi. Sì, avete letto bene: capperi. Un abbinamento che non ci saremmo mai aspettati, e che invece ci ha letteralmente lasciati a bocca aperta. La dolcezza vellutata della mandorla e del miele che si intreccia con la nota salina e pungente del cappero… un piccolo capolavoro di equilibrio e creatività, che chiude il pasto con un’esplosione di gusto, eleganza e stupore.

Il locale è curato nei dettagli, la vista è mozzafiato, ma ciò che rende tutto davvero speciale è l’anima che si respira qui dentro.

The service was good, the food was cooked quickly and tasted great but the downside was the pizza was a little soggy due the tomato sauce they used. I got the pizza parma which was a good choice but would have been 5 stars if the crust was a bit crunchier in the middle. Overall a decent meal and lovely freshly squeezed blood orange juice.

When I visited on a Saturday evening they had a fun band duo playing music which really made for a great atmosphere even when they hummed through some of the lyrics they seemed to forget :)

I would certainly recommend dropping by here if you are on a stromboli cruise even if it's just for a drink and enjoy the view. They also have several other food options such as buffet, set menu, antipasti, and plenty of...
