We stayed 5 nights at La Lampara. Its location is on the main street, just down from the house where Ingrid Bergman stayed while filming the movie Stromboli. The owners also own the restaurant of the same name that sits in front of the bed and breakfast. Breakfast is in the restaurant and is basic with yogurt, pastry, coffee, juice, etc. Asked for some watermelon one day, and they provided it without a problem.||||There is no wifi, but most of the island is not connected. ||||The room we had was long and narrow with high ceilings. It had a patio out back with chairs, table and hammock. There did not seem to be much hot water in the mornings, so I shower at night. Room were nice and cleaned, with A/C and satellite TV that had a few channels in English (BBC News, etc). There was a refrigerator in the room as well.||||The owners do not speak English, but they are very nice and their son-in-law, Antonio, does. Antonio is also a hike leader, so if you want to arrange a hike, you could probably do that through him as well. I did not know that at the time, so I booked my hike through a company in town. ||||At at the restaurant and I can honestly say, it was some of the best pizza I had the whole trip. The restaurant is very popular as it is large and can accommodate large families. They also have other dishes (sea food, pasta, etc), but I love pizza, and since it was so good, I had no need to try...

We asked for a cappuccino, still water and 2 gluten free pizzas. When they brought us the pizzas, they were cold, not a bit but fridge-cold especially in the middle and also they didn't look good. They looked the frozen pizzas that you buy at the supermarket. We kindly asked them to check them and refused the pizzas. Actually, what they did was to put them back in the oven while making faces as if we were crazy. I kept telling them just to check them if they don't believe it. They insisted and brought the pizzas back from the oven to us, and they were burned on the sides :-)). Of course, we refused them repeatedly and asked for the check only for the water and cappuccino and they were angry and said that we don't have to pay for anything. Moreover, the pizza chef came to our table and started arguing that he has been making 40 gluten free pizzas and they were all perfect. I simply refused to argue with him and just stated that they just had to check them and see that they were cold cold. Anyhow, because they refused to bring us the check, we left 5 euros and went on. They could never even compare to "Da...
