Ristorante da Pino e Gianni — Restaurant in Livorno

Mixed experience. Dinner at 10pm. We wanted to try a local spot near the hotel. The restaurant is quaint and nicely decorated. The swordfish was cooked very well and was delicious which warrants a better review. The mixed salad was very lacklustre (sliced carrots, red cabbage and tomato) and I don’t recommend. The main waiter was very inattentive and seemed to take it personally when I requested to sit inside as it was humid and boiling outside. This affected the service and how he treated us throughout the night. We asked for some more water and he never brought any, it was quite uncomfortable. The bill was quite high for what we had almost €60 for a very simple dinner for two and tap water (which is changed for at €2), and from when the waiter handed us the bill he then cleaned the entire indoor area before finally collecting payment from us 15-20 minutes later. Don't go there if you can't speak Italian. We went to Pino because of the good reviews and left disappointed and a bit angry. The food was good, even tho a bit pricey. The service was embarrassing. They didn't even make an effort, we had to remind them of your order or wish to pay many times. In the end they charged us a Grappa we never received. Not even a bit effort was made, eh. Asked if everything was okay, or getting the bill after we asked for it at least two times. Etc etc. Sorry Pino. We...

Arrogant restaurant chef and no service from waiters. When you receive bill and ask questions to it, as they have charged you more than the menu card has informed, you are just being told that the UK menu version had been changed according to the IT version and that you have been served something else than what you have ordered ???
