Porto Mediceo — Attraction in Livorno

Having arrived at the port in Livorno and disembarking from our cruise ship we took the provide shuttle bus service into town. From the drop off location we made our way on foot to the town centre to hop onboard a local bus that would take us to Pisa to visit the famous tower landmark and Cathedral. Local Bus fares are reasonable but be aware of their customs. After purchase of tickets when boarding the bus your ticket must be validated through a ticket machine even though you have already paid for it. If inspectors board the bus and you haven't validated your ticket you could be prosecuted and receive a hefty fine so get validated - as a tourist being unaware we were let off but warned of this processes that must be conducted in future. The journey to Pisa was long and hot so remember to take a bottle of water. At Pisa we took a 10 minute walk to the area to see the tower and cathedrals. There is a cost to go inside the buildings but no charge to walk around the open spaces surrounding them. Along side the walk to the tourist attractions you'll see many shops selling memorabilia of Pisa. After a few hours walk around the area we then headed back to port. E la seconda volta che veniamo a Livorno, perché faccio pesca sportiva nel porto di Livorno. Il porto e" grandissimo, in più ci sono tanti posti storici da visitare. La fortezza, il centro di Livorno e bello , poi c'è Calafuria posto incantevole mare e montagna e c'è una piscina degli antichi Romani, a 7 km da Livorno.più avanti di Calafuria c'è la cala del Leone spiaggia stupenda , in una conga immerso dal verde colline e mare.. a Calafuria c'è un ristorante anche tabacchi, dicono che si mangia bene. Noi non abbiamo ancora mangiato.. N.B. se andate a fare un giro a Calafuria quando il Navigatore vi dice che siete arrivati, non fermatevi la, dovete fare altri 500/700 metri sulla destra c'è un parcheggio, e c'è il ristorante con una torre.
