Were there for more than 1 hour and left still hungry because we did not eat our food. We waited to get our order taken for a long time. My husband has an allergy to seafood. We told the lady taking an order 3 times, and I used my Google translate to let her understand. We ordered grilled fish because it didn't have anything except for fish on the menu. When it came about 30 minutes later, fish was on the plate with squid and octopus. They said it was fine to eat the fish if he didn't touch the squid... She said squid was fish and not shellfish... And she said he shouldn't eat ravioli with salmon because it is contaminated with shellfish. We ended up not eating anything, paying €90 and leaving hungry. If you say on the menu that your staff is trained to cook for allergic people, then why not follow it? I do not recommend this place as it is very not customer friendly, pricey and the food is really not good at all. It was our worst food in Italy so far (day 5). The restaurant on the promenade Mario&Maria is waaaaay better and the food was just delicious. Here, they somehow managed to overcook the grilled fish, and it tasted as if it was boiled. Don't waste your time, and don't get tricked by...
Read moreWe waited about 20 minutes to be seated, which was acceptable, and the overall ambiance was quiet and relaxed. Service and cleanliness were both fine.
The food did not live up to expectations. We started with a fried seafood appetizer (€25) that was quite underwhelming, an average portion of seafood.
For the main course, I ordered chicken cutlets with ham, cheese, and sauce. The dish was extremely salty, to the point of being hard to enjoy. The side of “grilled vegetables” turned out to be just a few slices of eggplant with seasoning — a bit misleading and certainly not a balanced accompaniment. (€26)
The other main was a fish dish with roasted potatoes (€30). The fish itself was small and not very satisfying, and the potatoes were noticeably undercooked.
Thankfully, the dessert — a caprese cake with ice cream — was the highlight of the meal. It was rich and flavorful, a great way to end the dinner. (€7)
The total bill came to €98 for two people. Sadly, it didn’t feel worth the price. Perhaps we just chose the wrong dishes, but overall, we left...
Read moreAlthough it took a bit of patience amongst a crowd of other customers waiting to be seated with their number being called from an antiquated slip of paper system that was used to keep track of the growing queue on a crisp September night where a jacket was a must... This establishment ended up being a solid way to wrap up our last night in the beautiful and quaint town of Maiori! The hotel receptionist had recommended trying to get a table here since their lemon focaccia was to die for (which it was), so everything else that was ordered on the menu was a bonus. However, do not let your eyes trick you into ordering more than your gluttonous self can handle since we ended up ordering two pizzas, a focaccia, and a steak... and then left with two pizzas... You will hear sarcastic comments from the wait staff about this, so have a story or excuse ready to fire if you want to avoid the sneering judgment of takeaway food! A solid time all-around, and I would definitely love to return here if the future brings me back! Grazie...
