Ristorante Lounge Bar Lido Eldorado — Restaurant in Maiori

The restaurant’s location is one of the best in Maiori. They have big terrace with plenty of tables. First question you will be asked, if you have a reservation or not. The table closer to the sea are all reserved and we asked to go back area with all the other non-reserved customer together. Our area was fully packed in matter of couple of minutes. The stuff was friendly but in rush. It’s like a mass production facility. You come and sit; place your order; get your food. As soon as you finished and paid, the table will be cleaned; new table cloth will be placed and new customer is already there. We order peppered mussels as starter and it was bland. You receive your water and cold bred in a bag! I assume, because of the speed, they don’t bother to give starter plate neither. Once the starter ordered, we received our starter plates on the table. We order mixed grilled sea food, fried mixed seafood and tomato salad. Firstly, you will think that you will get the most delicious tomato in Italy, but it wasn’t smelling close to tomato and was part 2 small pieces. Secondly, grilled mix seafood was very bland. There are nothing added to the food. Those aren’t any spices or flavours what you would expecting to get in Italy. Thirdly, the fried seafood was fried very well. L'idea era quella di mangiare velocemente per poi proseguire verso Ravello dove eravamo attesi. Ingresso ore 13.00. Dopo ripetuti tentativi, dopo essere stati rimbalzati tra i vari addetti alla sala, alle 13.45 circa, il cameriere è venuto ad ordinare. Giustificazione del ritardo da parte del cameriere è stata che "il locale è piccolo". In realtà doveva essere un motivo in più per far prima!... Visto il gran numero di camerieri. E se intendeva dire che la struttura non è in grado di gestire tutti i clienti magari si potrebbe pensare di ridurre qualche coperto... Ma vabbè... Ordine: Insalatona, caprese,due primi e 1 acqua. (60euro) Insalate arrivate alle 14 e 25. Primi arrivati alle 15.15. Malgrado l'attesa la pasta era "molto al dente". Proprio mentre stavo pensando che se l'avessero impastata a mano c'avrebbero messo di meno a prepararla ho sentito la signora del tavolo vicino che stava chiedendo se la sua di pasta fossero andati a prenderla direttamente al pastificio. Praticamente mezza giornata sprecata solo per mangiare. Siamo usciti alle 15 e30(e ormai erano saltati tutti i piani della giornata) e la stessa signora della lamentela, per intrattenersi durante l'attesa (più lunga della nostra), ha chiamato la figlia per dire che erano tornati "nel bel locale dell' anno prima" ma che erano "impazziti" e stavano per andar via senza mangiare per quanto li avevano fatti attendere. Questo mi fa venire il dubbio che ci possa essere stato qualche cambiamento nella gestione. O che si preferissero i tavoli prenotati in pieno terrazzo, che effettivamente venivano liberati abbastanza celermente, rispetto a quelli più interni riservati a chi non aveva prenotato. Prezzi: leggermente più alti dei vicini concorrenti. Giusto di qualche euro. Qualità simile alla concorrenza ma piatti leggermente più abbondanti. Struttura : Locale in riva al mare. Sostanzialmente un bar ampliato con una grossa veranda (come tutti gli altri del resto quindi nulla di nuovo). Sicuramente quello più piacevole alla vista tra i tanti della zona. Se non fosse stato per gli immancabili piccioni, per i musicisti elemosinanti e venditori di ogni sorta che non venivano allontanati dal personale, al di là di tutto, l'avrei giudicato come il più accogliente tra quelli del lungomare. La vicina spiaggia fa il suo bell'effetto ma in alcuni punti risultava abbastanza sporca. Ma questo credo sia un problema dell'amministrazione comunale. Comunque sconsiglio sicuramente. A meno che non abbiate nulla da fare e vi possiate permettere 3/4 ore di tempo per un piatto di pasta. Fortunatamente siamo a marzo. Non oso immaginare come possano andare le cose d'estate!

Sicuramente la cosa che mi ha colpito di più è stato l'atteggiamento del personale di sala. Troppo attenti a scaricare la colpa sui proprietari e a lavarsi le mani del malfunzionamento della struttura più che ad accogliere e intrattenere il cliente. 45 minuti solo per ordinare sono davvero tanti. Sarebbe bastato passare di tanto in tanto a scusarsi, magari con uno stuzzichino di pochi euro, giusto per ingannare l'attesa, per rendere il tutto meno spiacevole. Invece si veniva sistematicamente ignorati e ai clienti si preferivano i litigi per l'assegnazione dei tavoli. È capitato anche a noi. Nel nostro caso un cameriere ha detto ad una coppia che il tavolo era occupato mentre un secondo ha fatto sedere noi, che eravamo appena arrivati, al loro posto. Ovviamente la coppia ha rivendicato la propria precedenza e siamo stati spostati. Col senno di poi sarebbe stato meglio...

My husband and I went here for dinner. The staff were ok - I've not come to expect overt friendliness from Italian dinner staff, so I wasn't expecting much and wasn't disappointed. The problem was the food.

My husband was served shrimp that wasn't cleaned, so he had to pick out the faeces from his own dinner. I was served three ravioli that weren't amazing, but weren't terrible either. 3 ravioli for €15 in lemon cream sauce. The next day, at a local grocery store, I saw the ravioli I was served (not just the same kind, but the exact same ravioli), €10 for a huge pack of 20. As a restaurant that was recommended to us, I was astounded. I know my husband and I are tourists, but I was genuinely shocked that a restaurant with such high reviews would have so little regard for its customers and its own public image that it would so blatantly cheat its patrons. This is Italy, and paying €15 I expected a little more than just cheap, mass produced grocery store ravioli with a markup of 8x the original purchase price. At least have the decency to make the...
