Visiting L’Artigiano dei Sapori – GELATO & COFFEE by Giordano Lombardi in Malcesine was an absolute delight. From the moment we stepped in, we felt the warm, welcoming atmosphere of a true artisan gelateria.
Giordano’s passion shows in every detail: the décor is simple but charming, the service is friendly and attentive, and the aroma of freshly roasted coffee mingles with the promise of something sweet. According to their site, Giordano blends his love of artisanal gelato and specialty coffee with care and local ingredients.
Now, about that pistachio gelato — it was one of the creamiest, richest pistachio flavors I’ve ever tasted. The nutty taste was deep, natural, and beautifully balanced, never too sweet or overpowering. Every spoonful melted in the mouth just the right amount, leaving a lingering, satisfying aftertaste.
I visited with my 2-year-old, and I have to say: this place handles little ones like pros. They were patient and kind, offering a small sample so my toddler could try before deciding. My child’s eyes lit up with delight at the flavor — and safe to say, we ended up with a double scoop! The seating was comfortable (for parent and toddler alike), and the staff didn’t rush us. It’s clear they appreciate families as much as...
Read moreThere are new heroes of Gelato (for 30 years it was a place in San Gimignano). It's hard to describe perfection - our lives are made up of relationships and experiences and saying THIS is what gelato aspires to be is an experience that you will remember. Normally when we go out, everyone gets a different flavor of gelato and everyone tastes the others and normally our family can agree one is the best. Not here. The pistachio is the best. Wait, no, the chocolate is the best (you never knew what chocolate was supposed to taste like until you had this). No the Crema del Baldo is the best. And so it went. They were ALL the best. Six different flavors and we didn't try the lemon as recommended. And the service. The guys were so nice. Offered different flavors, described the ingredients, and seemed genuinely interested in share their product and making you happy ("come back and try the lemon"). We walked around Malcesine after having this gelato and there seemed to be gelato every 10 meters and I felt bad for those people at those gelaterias for missing out on such a memorable life experience. THIS...
Read moreWow, we went specifically to that place, because of it's high rate on google. There was a grumpy looking guy in front of the gelato place, half blocking the entrance. Regardless I sneaked in to see how the best ice cream looks like and ordered two flavors. The gelato was okay. Not as great as the once we had in Riva de la Garda. As I came out my husband told me that the moody guy in the entrance actually told him , that we are not allowed to enter with children. Not even to get ice cream to take away. Now it makes sense that the place wasn't busy. I regret spending €2.50 there. Should have saved the money for someone more welcoming. Selling Gelato is definitely not the right job for that unfriendly worker in ...
