It took them more than an hour yo serve 3 plates of pasta, with the restaurant almost empty. We went with a baby and a small child. Our child ate a lot of bread in the meantime, so when the meal arrived she was already bored and no longer hungry. The table next to us arrived later, ordered the same pasta(!) and finished completely before our food even arrived. When we asked what happened they just shrugged their shoulders (the waitress changed in the meantime). When we finished it turned out that it was bot possible to pay with credit card "today". When our child needed to go to the toilet they wouldn't let her go (no real explanation, just that we had already paid and were expected to leave). And last but not least, the spaghetti alle vongole that they so much recommended were really nothing special. With a 3 euro budget I can cook them better myself... With all this they didn't seem to be really bothered, they didn't really excuse themselves and they didn't even offer a coffee or a drink for free (or anything that would have shown their concern about our experience). Clearly a "zero points" and "never again"...
Read moreShockingly bad. tagliatelle with prawns or lack of I should say was bland, the pasta too thick and just unseasoned. The "local traditional chicken stew" was just low grade chicken, least I think it was chicken, covered with undercooked pancetta the smothered with what tasted like just a can of finely chopped tomatoes, again bland, I would hardly call it a stew, adding a chicken breast, undercooked pancetta and pizza base sauce to a dish doesn't make it a stew.
Also for when you read this, your translations are incorrect on your menu, octopus with mash potato should be polenta.
Also it is ironic that the owners of here are the same ones of Trattoria da Nonna Pina, the same sarcastic comments telling customers to go to Naples for pizza as they won't serve it, yet they open this hole serving pizzas haha..
edit to response - I have no idea what you are talking about with pork not tasting like chicken, you have ignored all the concerns I mentioned. If the owner put the same time and effort into their food and service as they do to sarcasm they could be...
Read moreAn incredible dinner in Malcesine – grazie Mignon!
My girlfriend and I spent a week exploring Lake Garda, visiting both Malcesine and Riva del Garda, and our dinner at Mignon was hands down one of the highlights of our trip.
From the moment we stepped in, we felt welcomed. Despite not having a reservation, Maurizio, our incredible waiter, kindly arranged the best table in the house – a romantic little balcony on the second floor with a perfect ambiance. His warmth, professionalism, and personal attention made our dinner even more special.
The food? 5 Stars. Every dish was thoughtfully prepared, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. This is a place where you can taste the tradition in every bite.
If you’re visiting Malcesine, make sure to plan a stop here – it’s the perfect spot for a romantic dinner or a memorable meal with friends.
✨ Un ringraziamento speciale a Maurizio – sei stato impeccabile, gentile e ci hai fatto sentire come a casa. La tua ospitalità ha reso la nostra serata indimenticabile. Grazie...
