Great modern rooms. Clean and very nice design. Great that AC didn't work if the windows are open and you couldn't over cool the room since it was controlled from the reception. The location couldn't be better if you wish to be in the centre. The nearest "beach" is ok if you just want to have swim. The public beach a little bit further was full of kids who were jumping into the water and having a blast. The hill up and down in the hottest time of the year is somewhat unpleasant. The other day the wi-fi wasn't working until in the afternoon. When I asked about it I was told that maybe it will work or not. The breakfast was ok and no complaints there except the breakfast lady was quite crumpy and was very unpolite for instance when showing were we are not suppose to eat! There is this strange thing that the hotel visitors are not welcome to sit in the restaurant. First night we had some antipasto. I asked if it's allright to charge it to the room. She said ok. When we came back that night she was waiting for us that we have to pay it. Next evening we went to have aperitive drinks and the young men said that it's only for those who eat. I asked "even if you are hotel guest". We got the drinks. Wanted to pay with card and he asked if we have cash. Eventually I paid with the card. Next time we came after dinner to just use our tablets. He said you are not allowed to sit outside. You have to go in if you don't drink or eat. The restaurant wasn't even half full! We went inside and the internet area was hot as hell. Last morning we couldn't sit outside at all. An the breakfast room is so warm. No AC or fan. The 4th floor sun deck was a joke. So hot. And there was tis wall that was so high you couldn't see anything if you were in the chairs. But the view was great of course when standing. Over all experience was very dissapointing. As a frequent traveller in Italy for more than 50 years I have to say that there was nothing Italian style service in this place. Won't be back and cannot recommend unless you only want a good room, good location and ok breakfast. Left with a feeling we were not welcome at all. Except that the young lady at the desk was the only friendly person as we did the...
Read moreWe stayed here on the night of 9 June and are giving this hotel 1 star because we didn't get any sleep. Details below, but in essence, despite asking about the air conditioning on checking in and requesting it on booking, it turns out that it's controlled at reception and that they hadn't turned it on because "some people don't like air conditioning". Guess what, most people do like it and if they don't, they can turn it off at the wall!!
Also, the room was more basic than expected based on other people's reviews, e.g. two single beds rather than a double and quite a small room.
After complaining to reception the next morning that we couldn't sleep due to the heat, they were dismissive and rude. They then later admitted that the person checking us in didn't know that air conditioning had to be switched on by reception. After asking for the manager, we were offered 7 euros off a bill over 100 euros. Thanks a lot, that definitely makes up for a terrible night...
In detail, on checking in, we asked about the air conditioning and were told that the electronic key needs to be in the socket by the door and the windows need to be shut - fair enough.
We dropped our bags and went out to explore the town. We got back from a nice meal after enjoying the lovely nearby castle to find the room was hot so tried to turn on the air conditioning. It would say 'on' and then immediately say 'off'. We couldn't get it to work and it was late so we just tried to sleep. We opened the windows to get some air in, but the street outside was noisy (think bottles smashing in a bottle bank) all night. We then shut the windows and tried to sleep in the heat but it was sweltering. Went down at 3am to see if we could find someone on reception but no one was there.
As above, reception the next morning were rude and we suggested that in future they have the air conditioning on as default and let people control it from within...
