Riccardo Francischiello — Restaurant in Massa Lubrense

Really sorry, I absolutely hate sharing bad reviews but we didn’t have a great night at this restaurant. We had the traditional hor d’ouevres to start and we tried everything, but didn’t like any of it, it was all cold and viciously pickled in some sort of liquor. Anyway we moved on to the mains where I had Tagliatelle Bolognese. Being in Italy I guess I naively assumed that this would be good quality, but unfortunately I would say I make better myself at home, the bolognese sauce was very poor and there wasn’t much of it. My wife had the meat mixed grill which was average at best. We then tried to go for a pudding to redeem itself, we shared the chocolate cake but this tasted entirely of marzipan and wasn’t well made.

We had an unforgettable dinner here. The view over the bay is absolutely breathtaking the kind of place where you want to take your time and just enjoy every moment. Sunset was beautiful. The staff were warm, welcoming, and attentive without being intrusive. We felt genuinely taken care of. Definitely one of the best restaurants we had the pleasure to visit during our little Italian tour. The staff is absolutely amazing, one of the waiters even spoke Portuguese to us, which was adorable. But the food… the food was surreal! Amidst all the pricey restaurants in Sorrento and Capri, restaurant Riccardo Francischiello have very fair prices and better quality than most of the more expensive places we went to.
