Definitely the worst experience at a restaurant in Italy so far
It started out great, the staff had send me the menu before via whatsapp and upon arrival they explained to me how it worked. There was no air-conditioning inside and the place was really dark as the lights were off.
The menu was a bit confusing as you have the option of mix and matching a few different options: the only problem was that they were unable to tell me which options I could choose from. First I was told that I could choose anything from the menu except for the desert options. When I was going to order apparently it didn't work like that. As I wasn't understanding what I could choose from the waiter started to get a bit rude with me.
I ended up choosing the "omelet", the soy stew and the eggplant, with some bread and vegan mayo. The food didn't taste bad but everything was really cold.
When I went to pay I told the waiter that it was cold and she said it wasn't possible due to the condensation on the expository (as if I had any reasons to lie about it). She was extremely rude at this time and to be honest I just wanted to leave the restaurant.
It was an awful experience, I would rather have to eat meat again than having to return to this place. It is overpriced and the taste of food wasn't worth it.
Ps: when speaking about the customers while they are present, first make sure they don't...
Read moreI found this restaurant spontaneously on Google Maps after arriving with the ferry.
The food was tasty and filling (I highly recommend the chocolate cake), the staff was really friendly and it was very nice talking to the lady who seemed to lead the restaurant. I was so glad to find this place, because I was really hungry and EVERYTHING YOU CAN GET THERE IS VEGAN!
There were also some posters and flyers that seemed to be for information events about animal rights and animal sanctuaries. I‘m not really sure, because I don’t understand Italian, but it seems to me, that this is a REAL vegan restaurant and not only a „trendy place“.
If I will ever be in Messina again, I’ll definitely return...
