If Spain exported some of its traditional cuisine to the center of Milan, it’s done so in the form of the Albufera restaurant. Real Spanish food in the heart of Milan, Albufera offers a range of Spanish dishes with a modern take on the cultural favorites. According to their menu, the tapas plates are derived from only the freshest, in-season ingredients, and many of their suppliers ship directly from Spain, so there’s nothing more authentic.

I opted for many different tapas dishes, each one unique in flavor and delicious. The Ceviche de Dorada was a perfectly blend of tart and sweet, with a lime and pomegranate marinade, served with red onions and red peppers, and avocado to balance out the dish.

The Patanegra de Bellota was deliciously seasoned and mouth-watering, the blood sausage in the Morcilla y Pistacho was uniquely breaded with pistachio pudding, giving the dish a nutty flavor and a wonderful texture, and the blueberry jam really took the dish up a notch by adding a layer of sweetness. The Pulpo a la Gallega, was perfectly steamed octopus, served with potatoes and seasoned with smoked sweet paprika that gave the dish some woodsy notes. Wonderful!

There’s nothing more comforting than a sweet Spanish churro at the conclusion of a delicious meal, so we opted for the Bombas de Churros al Dulce de Leche, perfectly crispy fritters served with a rich and sweet caramel sauce.

Overall, the entire experience at Albufera was excellent, and I’d recommend this restaurant a thousand times over. The service was attentive, and really sought to make my experience the best it could be. And the restaurant design is inviting, traditional of the Spanish idea to share and converse over great food. Visit Albufera, and you won’t be...

Good spanish cuisine at affordable prices. We tried the Albufera in Milan after testing the Albufera restaurant in Valencia. Here the design is very nice, romantic atmosphere, soft lighting and post-industrial furniture. A good combination of modern and sophisticated. Very simple and special Mise en place such as the cutlery holder and the designer glasses. We started with a vintage Chardonnet to continue with the sangria. For appetizer we chose different types of tapas ... the best in my opinion ... the one with anchovies from the Cantábrico sea. We continued with Paella ... of two types: chicken and rabbit meat ... and the second of fish and seafood. To finish the desserts: Catalan cream and pineapple sorbet. To close the meal, a herbal liqueur and a plum liqueur. Account for 6 people € 300. Honest price. We will be back and...
