As 2 British Muslim Pakistani friends visiting Italy for a few days, the novelty of pastas and pizzas had soon worn off having visited Italy 6 months prior also and aware of the repetition in food options in fancy restaurants. Of course not knowing much about streets and locations we just stumbled on this place by accident whilst exploring the city of Milan. We were immediately welcomed by the sound of Urdu from the front of house staff member with a smile and this was the first home comfort. He also spoke fluent English which helped as Urdu isn’t our first language. Starving, we went through the menu quite quickly whilst mouth watering at the different options. Not knowing what to choose because of the excitement of flavoured south Asian food - we opted for the chicken curry and rice and a chicken tandoori wrap as a side as we were told the portions would be big enough for us both to share. This served true and the flavours matched the description. Compliments to the chefs in the back and for allowing our this time Italy experience to provide us with some nutritional and tasty nourishment. If you’re looking for authentic south Asian food in the area, this is the place to try! Saving this location for future...
Read moreA plesant, humble abode that we discovered by chance. As soon as we entered this little family run restaurant, we were greeted by the friendly Owner whose warm disposition reminds you of a beloved Uncle in one’s family.
We were suprised to see how busy the place was on a Tuesday night after 9pm with so many people from a non-South east Asian background.
We ordered the Butter chicken, Palak Paneer, Chicken tikka, white rice & Naan. After travelling around Europe for a few weeks now, we were missing some homely food with spice. Despite all the Indian/Pakistani restaurants we have eaten at, ordering a Medium-spicy dish was still more catered for the Western tastebuds. At Tandoori Kebab, the owner/chef & kitchenhand, ensured our dishes had fresh green chopped chillis which made our tastebuds sing at the very first bite!
We were absolutely delighted to taste such homely, rustic food. While we were enjoying food, I could hear the Owner go out of his way to assist all the other customers with understanding the menu, the different spice levels and also giving recommendations. The food was tasty, prepared efficiently in a timely manner.
I absolutely recommend giving this little delicious place a go. You will...
Read moreI found "Tandoori kebab" when we went to Corso Buenos Aires with family and decided to have lunch somewhere nearby. It is a very tiny place for 10-12 people with 3 or 4 personnel. The personnel is very friendly. The food was delicious: we took the kebab with rice (if you take regular one, it is quite spicy). Our child didn't like kebab even without spicies as it has specific taste and odor (matter of taste), hence we then addionaly ordered chicken tandoori with potato (chicken barbecue), which was good. Also, we ordered butter nan (butter bread), garlic nan and peinir nan (cheese bread) plus 2 tea and 1 coca cola. The total cost was 53 euro. I have to mention, though, that bath was not really clean, and it was very hot inside of the bathroom because apparently, the stove chimney is attached to the area. For this I gave only 2 stars for the atmosphere and 4 stars in overall for the efforts of the personnel, that tried their best to please us. Overall, it is a good place to have a quick lunch for those who like...
