Bgood — Restaurant in Milan

Just finished Lunch nearby and was visiting a friend who lived next door to this Cafe! I normally visited in the evenings when this place was closed so couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw the window display simply bursting with the most adorable & attractive looking cakes and pastries I have EVER seen here in Italy! And I have lived in Milan for +25 years!! It was packed when I went inside - in fact there was hardly any space to make my way to the serving counter! But I got there!😅 The 2 guys serving had big greeting smiles & were conversational when I mentioned the amount of choice and the lovely aspect of the spread before my eyes! I chose a Blueberry and Apple cake with a generous amount of fresh fat blueberries on top…but there were A LOT to choose from! As a British person I’m used to having excellent cakes & puddings which I think we do very well. I have found to my disappointment that many cakes in Italy are far too sweet (for my palette) - therefore overtaking any taste they may have, have the completely wrong texture or more often taste stale which for me is unacceptable with pastries. But today I was finally proved wrong! So never give up hope!! I have to say that this cake was absolutely exquisite!! Fresh, soft and they totally understood how the tangy addition of Lemon is essential to a cake of this kind to offset & give balance to the sweetness of the fruit. Plus I was given a very generous slice for €5.50. Which as it turned out was money very well spent! It was honestly the best slice of cake I’ve had from a cake shop / patisserie in 20 years of living here, and that’s the truth! Oh, did I say that most of the pastries seemed to be Vegan? No matter, your first thought might be ‘oh no’ but it certainly didn’t taste ‘Vegan’ to me!! It was absolutely delicious and made the rest of my day extra special!! We went to the restaurant at 12 and had to wait 15 minutes to sit down. After that we waited 45 minutes to get water and other drinks to the table and waited 30 more for food. So overall waited hour and a half for food that was mid. One from our group didnt even finish their food because it just wasnt good.

The servers never informed us about the long wait neither did they apologize for it. They seemed extremely stressed and disoriented. I ordered iced chai latte and received an warm one instead. When the first foods from the brunch menu came to our table they informed us that an side we wanted wasnt available which they coudlve told atleast an hour ago. Our water didnt get refilled and the yougurt for the brunch was ridiculosly small. The price was also too high. Overall the experience left a very bad feeling and i would never recommend...

Era da tempo che volevo provare un brunch, avevo trovato questo posto su Instagram e dalle foto mi ispirava un sacco. Si consiglia di prenotare perché il posto è molto piccolo così chiamato più volte per ma avevano sempre la segreteria, ho mandato un messaggio su whatsapp e per fortuna li mi hanno risposto, dovevamo essere in tre ma una mia amica ha avuto un contrattempo la mattina stessa e li ho avvisati un po’ all’ultimo ma sono stati molto gentili. Arriviamo al cibo: devo dire tutto molto buono nel complesso, stile healthy, ti portano un foglietto dove ci sono scritte le varie pietanze e con la matita segni quello che vuoi seguendo le istruzioni, ci sono varie scelte, io per esempio ho preso il menu con toast cavolo rosso, hummus, feta e pomodoro secchi, insalatina con avocado, patate dolci, succo di mela, cappuccino, mentre la mia amica avocado toast con salmone e uova, cavolfiori teriyaki, nachos con guacamole, spremuta di arancia e cappuccino. Ah tutto accompagnato con acqua aromatizzata al limone e foglie di menta e condimenti come olio e sale perché per esempio la mia insalata non era condita. La mia amica aveva già il dolce nel piatto ovvero lo yogurt greco con crumble e frutta mentre io che ho scelto la brioche e l’ho presa in un secondo momento andandola a scegliere al banco, ho scelto quella con confettura di lamponi e lamponi freschi. Devo dire che c’era tanta scelta e la ragazza al banco è stata molto carina da elencarmi tutto quello che c’era, c’erano anche i maritozzi😍 Tutto presentato molto bene e buono il gusto di tutto, ma avrei degli appunti da fare. Lo yogurt con crumble veramente pochissimo crumble, avremmo preferito un bello strato crunchy perché così è finito subito ed è rimasto solo lo yogurt e quello greco da mangiare così senza neanche del miele non è il massimo😬 Il secondo appunto che faccio è stato il mio toast, un po’ secco e poco condito, forse troppo cavolo rosso e ho fatto fatica a mangiarlo. Un’appunto sul prezzo delle aggiunte, 6€ per dei pancakes mi è sembrato un po’ troppo, così come la torta (anche se non ricordo bene il prezzo) Ultima cosa, la segreteria continua quando ho provato a chiamare😬 Comunque complesso 18€ ci sta per tutto quello che abbiamo mangiato, siamo uscite sazie al punto giusto, senza essere troppo piene e soddisfatte!
