Bites — Restaurant in Milan

Very cute restaurant, which serves carefully crafted small dishes drawing inspiration from asian cuisine. Interesting flavours and unexpected combinations keep you entertained during the experience. The chef chooses the dishes for the guests, but respects any intolerances and preferences of the guests. This element of surprise was exciting to say the least. The waiters had awesome knowledge of the menu and dishes and spoke fluently in italian but also in english. They were well presented and kind, taking care of the guests with smile and positive warm attitude. What would make the experience impeccable is a little upgrade to the ambience and furniture. Siamo stati da Bites per una cena in famiglia e l’esperienza è stata davvero di livello. Il locale è piccolo, curatissimo e dall’atmosfera super contemporanea. Il personale in sala è delizioso: preparato, attento senza essere invadente e molto disponibile. Per i tavoli con più di 4 persone è previsto un menù fisso: si sceglie solo il numero di portate (noi abbiamo optato per 5 bites), ma non i piatti. Nota super positiva: grande attenzione ad allergie e restrizioni alimentari. Mio fratello è vegetariano e non mangia pomodoro, e la cucina ha adattato tutto con grande professionalità. Il percorso gastronomico è estremamente studiato: piatti tecnici, accostamenti audaci, influenze asiatiche – soprattutto giapponesi – che si integrano bene con la tradizione italiana. Cotture perfette, sapori equilibrati e non troppo eccessivi. Bisogna però tener presente che ci si affida totalmente allo chef: noi abbiamo avuto due antipasti contenenti pesce crudo, un primo al ragù di cuore di vitello e un secondo con lingua di vitello. Per chi non ama certe preparazioni può essere impegnativo: conviene informarsi prima, e consiglio forse al ristorante di informare i commensali in qualche maniera. Io comunque ho apprezzato tutto. Carta dei vini molto interessante: abbiamo scelto un bianco fermo australiano minerale, particolare ma davvero ottimo. The experience was outstanding. First off, we love places that break away from tradition and offer a variety of small dishes. This way, you get to try more things.
