A Complete Disaster – Avoid Crazy Pizza at All Costs
This was by far the worst dining experience I’ve had not just in Milan, but anywhere in Italy. Crazy Pizza was a total catastrophe from start to finish – a place that thrives on hype but delivers absolute disappointment and disrespect.
We made a confirmed reservation for 10 people at 11:00 PM, only to be told upon arrival that the kitchen had already stopped serving pasta at 10:30 PM. No advance notice. No courtesy call. Just a dismissive “we don’t serve that anymore” when we showed up. We were left with no choice but to settle for pizza – which, ironically, was overpriced, bland, and completely forgettable.
To make matters worse, the restaurant was practically empty, yet the staff were cold, disinterested, and clearly in a rush to go home. It was obvious they didn’t care about service, hospitality, or even basic decency. They pressured us to order quickly and made it clear we were an inconvenience rather than valued guests.
But the most unacceptable part of the night? We had made this reservation specifically for a birthday celebration. During the booking process, I explicitly told the staff we wanted a birthday cake and were relying on the restaurant to arrange one. They called back to confirm dress code and cake details – I was crystal clear that we weren’t bringing our own and needed them to provide it. They agreed.
Yet when the moment came, we were given a plate with a smear of whipped cream and a lazy “Happy Birthday” written in chocolate. No cake. No explanation. No apology. When we politely asked where the promised cake was, the staff responded rudely, insisting we had somehow failed to communicate clearly. It was insulting, humiliating, and completely unprofessional.
This wasn’t just poor service – it was a shocking lack of integrity, hospitality, and basic competence. Crazy Pizza sells an image, but behind the flashy branding is a restaurant that treats its customers with indifference and contempt.
Do yourself a favour: don’t go near this place. There are hundreds of incredible spots in Milan that offer real Italian hospitality, great food, and a warm, memorable experience. Crazy Pizza offers none of that. It’s all style, zero substance – and in our case, a special night ruined.

Read moreif you’re black AVOID this place!!!!! terrible service and terrible staff, told us they had to ‘hide’ us in a corner because i was wearing havaianas (baring in mind people were there in sports clothes and running trainers with no issues), they then left us sat for over 20 minutes whilst serving other guests that arrived well after us, then when bought to their attention they couldn’t have cared less. there was no apology or an attempt to understand our frustrations instead they were ready to see us leave. there are many better and accommodating places to eat in milan don’t waste your time or money. i truly hope you learn to have decent manners and respect to people of colour instead of treating us like an inconvenience.
EDIT: first you make it seem as though i did not speak to staff about the dress code, i did on the phone prior to my arrival as i did have a reservation and no one stated that flip flops wouldn’t be appropriate we were informed that SPORTSWEAR was the only thing not tolerated but we saw multiple people dressed in sportswear whilst at the restaurant with no issue. you also have gone on to say you offered us discount and we left before you could offer your apologies again this is a complete lie. we were offered a free dessert which we stated we was not going to have a dessert in the first place so this isn’t any form of discount. the person who came to speak to us didn’t once say sorry or even let us speak he was completely dismissive and had no issue with us politely declining the dessert and choosing to dine elsewhere. it is very disappointing that you choose to make false statements instead of appropriately investigating what happened and making your customers feel assured that you are willing to learn from your mistakes. i think this completely reiterates my original statement that this establishment is not accommodating to...

Upon arrival, I was told there was a dress code: no flip flops and no sleeveless t-shirts. Considering I’m here on holiday, it’s 28 degrees, and this is just a pizza place, I was surprised. Still, I went back to my hotel, changed into something more formal, and returned.
When I sat down, the staff didn’t even offer me a drink—I had to ask. My pint of Peroni arrived with a head so large that half the glass was foam. When I politely asked if it could be topped up, it came back with no head at all and was left practically half empty.
Looking around the restaurant, I noticed several women in vest tops and open-toed sandals. Later, while waiting for my bill, a man walked in wearing footwear almost identical to what I’d originally been told wasn’t allowed. When I challenged the staff about the supposed dress code, the response was: “We didn’t see him.” If there is a dress code, fine—I respected it. But it should be applied consistently. Instead, it came across as selective, pretentious, and frankly offensive, especially for what is essentially a mid-market pizzeria trying to appear more than it is.
To be fair, the food itself was very tasty. But be warned: you’ll pay beyond premium prices for an experience that falls well short of even the bare minimum of good service with staff that don’t really care about what they were doing and more about how they are looking. . My advice: Avoid. You’ll get better service, fairer treatment, and better value at an independent spot—or even a chain that actually cares about...
