Overall we had an uncomfortable stay due to a few reasons.
The climate control switch was falling apart from the wall in room 729, and we had to use some force to hold it down in order to adjust temperatures/fan speed.
In the same room, the headboard light malfunctioned at 1am and kept switching on by itself. An engineer came in and shrugged off the problem. The light switched on again while we were trying to sleep, so we called the engineer in again and finally the problem was acknowledged after much explanation, albeit him not having a fix for it. So we either had to try sleeping with light shining in our eyes, or change rooms at 2am. Safe to say, our sleep was disrupted and it was overall a stressful experience (explaining the problem in English, having it translated by the reception via phone to the engineer, engineer trying to fix the problem, all the back and forth and still needing a room change and then having to pack and unpack again). We ended up falling asleep at 4am.
In the new room we moved into, the telephone by the bed had no connection and did not work.
This hotel was apparently only opened in May this year so they explained that they were new and still figuring things out. But how can electric switches break down in a few months is something that puzzles us. On the surface, the hotel looks pretty with nice interior decor, but in fact materials are of low quality and poor durability.
There are also no kettle/tea bags in room. First time we asked, they came packed nicely in a ziplock bag. After we changed rooms, we were handed a kettle and 2 tea bags (and no cups).
Our dog stayed with us and we requested at the reception for housekeeping to clean the room while we took our dog out. To our disappointment, we eventually returned to an uncleaned room, even though the staff at the reception readily informed us “they will be there in the room immediately” before we left the hotel. We’d rather they don’t say things with no intention to follow through and let us know accordingly if they may not be able to meet a request.
In the end we were offered a waiver of the €35 for our dog staying with us, but we felt it was lackluster and insincere - considering the very uncomfortable stay we had. On this same trip, the hotels we stayed at in Genoa and Paris provided complimentary stays for our dog, while everything else were excellent in other aspects in comparison.
The stars in this review are for the staff at breakfast, who worked hard to serve the big crowds and were polite and efficient. Fruits were of good selection which we liked.
We will not come back to this hotel and any of...

Our stay at Milano Verticale UNA Experienza was truly exceptional. The hotel’s location is very convenient, just a short 15-minute walk from the station, which made our arrival easy even in the Milan heat, and close to dozens of restaurants, bars and excellent shopping in Milan’s most fashionable neighbourhood.
As we approached, we were greeted by the sight of a beautiful, white, modern tower, with an inviting main lobby area. The line-up of sleek Porsches parked out front set the tone for the luxurious experience that awaited us!
From the moment we walked in, the staff provided excellent service, making us feel welcome right away. Our corner suite on a high floor was outstanding! The room featured high ceilings, was impeccably clean, and everything felt brand new, adding to the sense of luxury.
The panoramic view of Milan from our suite was breathtaking, offering a wonderful perspective of the city. The bathroom was spacious and modern, a real highlight of the room. However, the sheer curtains in the bathroom did pose a slight issue at night, as they were a bit see-through.
The dining experience at the hotel was just as impressive. Both restaurants were staffed by incredibly nice people. The bar crafted excellent cocktails and had an extensive wine list, while the restaurant served delicious food in a beautiful garden courtyard in the middle of the hotel.
It’s surprising that Milano Verticale Experienza is only ranked as a 4-star hotel because it far exceeds the quality of many 5-star hotels I’ve stayed at in the past. One improvement that would elevate this hotel further would be the addition an elegant outdoor pool!
Overall, our stay was fantastic, and I would highly recommend Milano Verticale Experienza to anyone visiting Milan. The minor curtain issue aside, the hotel exceeded our expectations...
Read moreI was super disappointed by Milano Verticale. I was hosting a large group of architects and designers and chose this hotel because it looked well designed and had good reviews. To begin the poor first impression, the hotel staff did not have the updated booking information from Booking.com and told our guests that they were not registered in the system, even though I had a copy of the bookings in their names. The evening staff seemed generally uninterested in providing a good first impression, and it took too long to sort everything out. They even assumed we were a different group because we happened to be of the same ethnic background (no similarity in names)
Secondly, the smell of the hallways were terrible and stale, as if the carpets always remained damp. The room was spacious but did not feel clean, despite looking like it had been serviced. When I went into the bathroom I found blood splatters in the bidet and on the shower wall. When I brought it to the staff attention the next day, they were very apologetic but they claimed it was dried soap. I cannot prove otherwise, but I really doubt it.
The food made us feel sick both after dinner and after breakfast. There was something about the quality of it that just sat in your stomach like a brick. The coffee was a highlight though, and was actually really nice.
Overall, I would never come back to this hotel which is unfortunate as it's well located and the rooms are spacious. So much potential but needs a good clean and an overhaul...
