Experiencing Brunello Osteria was nothing short of a delightful culinary expedition. This restaurant embraces the spirit of traditional Italian dining while adding a dash of innovation that leaves you yearning for more.
Starting off the feast was the "Tartare di Manzo 'Madama Bianca'," a melange of summer truffles, raspadura lodigiano, and wild arugula. The tartare was a dream, perfectly seasoned and rich in flavor. The raspadura lodigiano lent an earthy, salty note, perfectly balancing the wild arugula's peppery undertone. The summer truffles, a true star, added an exceptional depth of flavor - a dish that truly embodies the essence of summer.
The "Fiocco di Culatello di Podere Cadassa" was another standout. The culatello, with its intense and aromatic flavor, was a testament to the excellence of Italian cured meats. The mousse of burrata and white focaccia provided a creamy, comforting base that wonderfully complemented the sharpness of the meat.
A special mention must go to the "Polpo in Doppia Cottura." The twice-cooked octopus was tender, succulent, and flawlessly prepared. The pappa al pomodoro, a classic Tuscan dish, was elevated with a subtle hint of citrus that refreshed the palate, and the braised escarole added a pleasing, textural contrast.
Finally, the "Mondeghili alla Milanese" was an absolute revelation. These Milanese meatballs, served with a beetroot cream and gorgonzola fondue, were a comforting yet refined take on a classic. The meatballs were moist and flavorful, while the beetroot cream added a sweet, earthy note. The gorgola fondue was creamy and luxurious, adding an indulgent touch to the dish.
The ambiance of Brunello Osteria is as exquisite as the food it serves. It's evident that every detail has been thoughtfully considered, from the warm and inviting decor to the attentive and knowledgeable staff.
In conclusion, Brunello Osteria offers an unparalleled dining experience that marries the comfort of traditional Italian cuisine with a contemporary flair. It's a must-visit for anyone seeking to immerse themselves in the rich flavors of Italy. Bravo, Brunello Osteria, for the gastronomical delight you serve! I eagerly anticipate...
Read moreAs you stroll through the streets of Milan, you’ll be delighted to dine at the Osteria Brunello, a recently renovated family tavern that makes simple, yet sophisticated cuisine with seasonal ingredients so fresh you can taste it.
I was looking for contemporary Italian cuisine, and the atmosphere of the Osteria Brunello drew us right in. Upscale and modern, but with a refined rustic charm that spread throughout the restaurant. The staff was warm and inviting from the moment I entered, and the service throughout my meal was nothing short of impeccable. It’s impossible not to smile while you’re here, as the mood and friendliness of the team is catchy.
I started with an appetizer of foie gras on a toasted pan brioce, with a black cherry reduction that complimented the rich taste of the foie gras. I reveled in the deliciousness of their homemade pasta, with a dish of squid ink tagliatelle with lobster. The lobster broth added another level of flavor, and for me the entire meal was something truly unique and appetizing. The presentation of the dishes was beautiful, with the color of the food popping against the white dinnerware, making my mouth water.
Anyone who dines at Osteria Brunello has to try the award winning veal cotoletta Milanese, which is exactly what I opted for. The server presented me with a 230g veal cutlet, breaded with finely grated white bread that gave it a perfect level of crisp when fried in clarified butter. Tender, rich, and truly a delight for the taste buds, it’s easy to see why this dish is a specialty.
Overall, the entire experience, from the warmly lit dining room, to the great service from the staff, to the intense flavor of the food at Osteria Brunello was incredible, and I’d definitely recommend this restaurant, especially if you want something a little different than the traditional...
Read moreI really like costolleta which is breaded veal but tastes like fried breaded pork chop for those who haven't tried yet. I tried several place in Milan for costolleta and I like this place a lot. I'd say majority of the people coming here especially tourists come here for costolleta because supposedly this restaurant won an award for best costolleta on 2015 or 2016. First costolleta should be veal and it should come with bone. The breading does separate from the meat so as you cut the meat the breading might flake and fall off the meat. I'd prefer it doesn't. As for the meat it's proper veal as you can see the pinkness. However I'd say it's good but not so good that I'd say it's the best costolleta. It's however worth trying it in this particular if you haven't yet. If you have at least two people that can share your food I'd recommend only order one and order something else as each piece is huge. I did finish it as I came by myself but it can get boring. I liked the bread but I don't like the tiramisu. The tiramisu has too much whipped cream but not enough of the "cake" so you feel like you are eating flavored whip cream. The service is very good and prompt. The restaurant itself feels like a good Italian restaurant without over the top deco. It has a good modern vibe that's...
