The food was authentic but creative fare from Abruzzo. Highlights included the mutton tartare and gelato made with local liqueur, ratafia. The wine list is carefully selected and we had a mid-priced bottle that was excellent; it seems like you can't go wrong here. Our service was exemplary; a shout out to Evelyn for her phenomenal attention to detail and kindness to two non-italian speakers. The chef provided an amuse-bouche complimentary and the atmosphere was relaxed and calm. The restaurant was unpretentious but totally met the standards of fine dining. Phenomenal experience, worth the trip to Porta Romana. Highly recommended, many thanks for a great culinary experience!

Wow! We really enjoyed our experience at Capestrano. The waiter was so friendly and since our Italian is not so great yet, he spoke to us in perfect English; explaining the origins of many of the dishes with pride. The boar’s meat ragù was exceptional and I highly recommend. Not pictured in this review is the “Je sformat de melanzana c’la mozzarella (eggplant on Parmesan cream with toasted almonds) because it was so amazing we tore threw it before I could snap a photo 😁

Abbiamo prenotato online facilmente.

Bottega del Capestrano: A Hidden Gem of Flavor and Warm Hospitality

If you’re looking for an authentic Italian dining experience, Bottega del Capestrano delivers on all fronts. From the moment you step inside, the warm and inviting interior immediately sets the tone for a memorable meal. The charming décor strikes a perfect balance between rustic elegance and cozy sophistication, creating a setting that feels both relaxed and refined.

The food is the star of the show, as it should be. With a menu that showcases regional specialties, every dish is thoughtfully crafted and bursting with flavor. The handmade pastas are exquisite, cooked to perfection and paired with rich, savory sauces that transport you straight to Abruzzo. The meats are so tender.

However, what truly elevates Bottega del Capestrano is the impeccable service. Evelyn the capo sala goes above and beyond to ensure every guest feels welcomed and cared for. Her attention to detail, genuine warmth, and deep knowledge of the menu enhance the entire dining experience.

In short, Bottega del Capestrano offers more than just a meal — it provides a heartfelt experience where tradition, taste, and hospitality come together beautifully. Highly recommended for food lovers seeking an unforgettable Italian...
