La Medina — Restaurant in Milan

I decided to go to this café with my friends to experience a Moroccan breakfast, but not having a menu made the whole selection process very confusing for us, as everything is assumed from Morocco and we were not familiar with them! I had to sit down and let my friends choose for me, because the only way to order was to stay in front of the counter and try to ask an impatient person to explain that it was not the best in such a small café! Obviously, the process went wrong and what we ordered was not what we got, which after explaining it was changed to what was right and good. But unfortunately in the end they said they do not accept the card which has put us in the most hopeless...

I had never tried Moroccan cuisine before so I cant tell if the food is authentic or not. But the tea technique before serving tells me they are. It was completely a brand-new and wholesome experience to try something totally new.

The Sahara tea is amazing, flavorful with the infusion of mint and lavender. I am in love with the pancake’s sauces. Can’t tell if I like it more with honey or the Moroccan, but definitely both were amazing.

The staff were also nice and helpful. She kept a table for us, which is a group of 4 while the bar was crowded. One small minus point was the long wait for food to be served but I could understand as there were only 2 girls managing and...

Io ed il mio uomo siamo stati in questo locale, che più che una pasticceria etnica è un locale che si è etnicizzato, proabilmente per non chiudere dato che la zona non è delle migliori.

Siamo stati qui con l’esperienza a 25€ che comprendeva un tatuaggio henné e un aperitivo tipico marocchino.

Diciamo che le aspettative erano altre, ovvero di avere un posto un po’ più riservato ed esclusivo per godere di questa bella iniziativa, che giustificasse il prezzo secondo entrambi un po’ alto. Invece c’erano persone sedute ai tavoli che non erano lì per l’evento. Inoltre nessuna “introduzione” o racconto circa i prodotti che saremmo andati ad assaggiare. Cosa che sarebbe stata molto gradita.

Arriva un primo tagliere: salame piccante, bresaola, 3 fette di pane e giusto due mini vaschette con carote e zucchine. A seguire una sorta di involtino con dentro il pollo un po’ dolce e un po’ salato, devo dire molto buono. Infine per chiudere un dolcettino al cocco. Il tutto innaffiato da tè caldo alla menta.

La domanda qui mi viene spontanea: tutto di qualità ma…Sono tutti prodotti della tradizione? Sugli affettati del tagliere ho qualche dubbio, e un po’ mi spiace perchè saremmo stati molto curiosi di assaggiare l’alternativa giusta.

Di per sè il costo, sapendo bene quanto costa fare hennè o aperitivo a milano non è altissimo, ma una cosa non mi è proprio andata giù è stata il fatto che siamo arrivati qui dal video di un'influencer e le porzioni erano molto più abbondanti. Specchio per le allodole?

La ragazza che ha fatto hennè super gentile e carinissima, ma al mio “posso farmi anche qualcosa di semplice sull’altro braccio” mi ha risposto “non so se faccio in tempo perchè c’è molta gente e vorrei riuscire a fare tutti”.

Se un’inziativa è valida, perchè posso dire che ci tornerei volentieri nonostante alcuni difettucci, perchè non prevedete di fare più date ed abbassare...
