This is a Restaurant in Milan , Italy and cannot make proper Italian food. My family and I went for dinner yesterday and ran into the owner standing on the pavement outside his restaurant conning people to think he had the best food in Milan. We ordered Lasagne and An egg plant dish which both arrived in five minutes which was a bad sign. These dishes take easily twenty minutes to cook afresh. These were I am sure pre cooked dishes sitting in a glass cabinet under hot lamp. Both the dishes were horrible, lasagne was tough as leather and dry, the egg plant dish was dry too with hardly any cheese or tomato sauce. We called the Sri Lankan waiter one with cheap fake Italian accent and complained to him but he showed his inability to do anything about it. The attitude upset me totally. We decided to pay and get out of there as that was more healthy than eat shamefully bad Italian dish in city of Milan. On my way out I got hold of the owner and complained to him too , who wouldn’t accept the fact that his food was not fresh and tasted bad. He claimed he was one the top eating places in Milan and his father before him for fifty years ran a great restaurant. My daughter wanted to treat me to a good lasagne while we were visiting Milan for three days and we had the misfortune of dining at a restaurant which was shelling out pre cooked dishes you would find at a railway canteen. A con artist for an owner standing on the pavement hustling customers. I wish Milan authorities would fine this guy for bringing bad name to their city and putting classic Italian dishes to shame. God it was a...

We were walking past and decided to try this restaurant. The waiter was nice. The menu was a bit different than some of the other restaurants we have already tried. Meat served with the pasta and cheese on the table. Seemed to be a bit for the tourist was my first impression. I am not complaining, I am a tourist. We ordered, and the first course came out. Slightly overdressed salad and too firm burrata, but overall, it's still good. Then we waited. And waited. I am all for an enjoyable multicourse meal. However, when we gently asked 35 minutes later, it was obvious we had been forgotten. The table behind us (of Italian speaking people) received their food immediately. Our food was brought out quickly, after we told them we hadn't eaten. Not the greatest carbonara to be certain. Pasta was cooked well. When we indicated we were done and the check was delivered, we had an unwanted surprise. A charge for the to go box in addition to the coperto. Also, understand nowhere was the coperto posted outside on a sign that we saw. Perhaps we missed it on the menu. When brought to the manager's attention, he became incredibly animated and rude with us. No offer was attempted to make anything correct. The customer is not always right, and I may not be Italian, but kindness is universal. Since being in this beautiful country, he has been the first person to treat us as if we should not be here. He went out of his way to ask where we were from. Shame on him. What an awful experience for my family. Sorry, I wasted a meal in Milan on that place. Find...

Great first meal in Milan! Getting around to sharing or review from last nights solid meal.

Having flown in that day, we were looking for something highly rated with a decent price and availability. Just a short walk from Milano Centrale offered this awesome spot at the corner of the street.

We ordered a negroni, burrata appetizer, seafood tagliolini and lasagna.

This was a pleasant surprise as we had figured this might be touristy but turned out to be a great meal. The waitstaff offered us a seat right away with availability inside or out. Inside was a great reprieve from the hot summer air. After a reasonable amount of time we were asked for orders and were served bread along with provided olive oil and balsamico. Great way to kick things off and accompanied our burrata appetizer. Fresh and hot mains arrived in a timely fashion. Throughout service we were asked how the meal was and if we needed anything. The atmosphere was good inside with the place relatively busy with a mix of locals and tourists. Would recommend this place and will likely return before our visit in...

Milan Dining Guide: Authentic Italian Gems! 🍝✨

From the pictures I saw in the menu, it seems this restaurant has a lot of history dating back to the 1960s. It also seems like it has grown, expanded, and maybe lost the warmth and attention to detail that makes Italian dining special. We ordered the seafood pasta and Milanese risotto. Both dishes were under-seasoned and without much flavor. Several muscles and clams in the seafood pasta were not open or able to be opened. That usually means they aren’t fresh and died in storage. Not safe to eat them like this, especially with clams. Also not cool to pay for food that shows up on the plate inedible. The risotto had a very mild flavor. Usually good risotto is rich, creamy, and flavorful. Overall I would look for a smaller, classic restaurant that is still trying to make a name for itself. I think this restaurant is resting on its laurels and maybe trying to execute dishes that are out of its reach. I would normally give a place like this 3 stars, but clearly something is off with the kitchen if they are serving shellfish this way.

As one of the reviewers said, Osteria Papa Nicola is truly a gem! My friends and I accidentally stumbled upon this place while visiting Milan, and we are so glad we did! For starters, it was an absolute pleasure having Antonio as a waiter. He was welcoming but also had a great sense of humor. The 5-star service included speedy service, an amazing wine selection, and delicious food. We had just about everything...the Cotoletta, Burrata di Andria, Risotto, Lasagna, and more! Antonio recommended the Bindella Montelpuciano vino rosso, and it was a perfect pairing! Next time you're in Milan, stop by Papa Nicola and ask to meet Antonio and Roberto. Very kind, attentive, and sweet people! Also, don't leave without having the Tiramisu and the Panna Cotta! Molte grazie, Papa Nicola! Fino alla prossima volta!
