This wine bar and restaurant is absolutely adorable and amazing! I happened upon this restaurant when I was on my walk back home from a really long day out exploring Milano, and since it was my first day, I had forgotten that I did not have my European adapter for my phone charger! I was beginning to become desperate because when I realized that I needed to buy one, at that time all of the stores and Convenience stores and groceries and local spots that would have one were already closed for the day! (Italy!) Forgetting that European culture is very different than American 24 hour service I became desperate and saw this wine bar with the owner inside standing at attention, so I walked in and asked if I could please borrow a charge for a bit and he immediately said absolutely, of course, and welcomed me in. He spoke perfect English and was kind and generous with his time and his energy and electricity! We proceeded to spend the next hour or more chatting about all the different wines he had there. I learned he was a sommelier, and he was so passionate and excited to share everything that he knew and loved about his collection. He was so generous with his knowledge and all the tips of exploring the local area, particularly the different wine regions where I could go to find the best barolo, or the best orange wine, or the best Prosecco! It was an absolutely amazing unexpected lifetime experience, & I’m so grateful for his time, his education, and what I thought was most important when I originally stepped in, but ended up being the least exciting moment of the night, so grateful for the charge. It allowed me to continue exploring a beautiful country for the next 10 days. Thank you so much again! And this is so five star review as I still had the opportunity to see the beautiful plate he was bringing out for his other patrons. They looked absolutely fabulous, and I promise to come back to try them myself! He also shared with me some of his favorite wines and they were Delicious! and crisp and unique! He taught me about natural wines and again it was just an amazing experience. I’m so grateful for him and anyone in the area should absolutely stop by whether it’s for just a glass or one of his delicious pairs with small plates!...
Read moreMy partner and I visited Enoteca Sciùmè last weekend, and it was such a lovely experience! We came across it while searching for wine bars in Milan, and as big fans of natural wine, it sounded like the perfect spot for our Saturday evening.
What really made the evening special was Davide, the owner. He was fantastic—so knowledgeable and passionate about the wines. He took the time to explain everything in detail and introduced us to one of the best orange wines we’ve ever tasted.
The food was also delicious. The small plates were spot-on, with delicious local ingredients that paired perfectly with the wines. Davide’s recommendations were thoughtful, and you could tell he genuinely cared about making the whole experience unforgettable.
On top of all that, Davide was so warm and welcoming. He really made us feel at home, which made the evening even more memorable.
If you’re into natural wine and in Milan, you absolutely need to check this place out. Thanks, Davide, for such a great night—we’ll...
Read moreGood restaurants rarely have much in the way of natural wine, and good natural wine wine bars rarely have much in the way of good food. Sciuma is an exception with terrific wines, and although a small menu, very tasty dishes, including a delicious pumpkin soup ( we ordered a second helping). Out of all the wine bars I visited in Milan (quite a few!) this was the one I enjoyed the most since the excellent food really went well with the excellent wine. You don't have to eat here, just have a few glasses of wine and then go elsewhere to eat, but it is well worth eating here. I really look forward to...
