As a study abroad student in Milan, I've been exploring as many cafĂŠs as possible to find the perfect spots to relax, read, and hang out with friends. While aesthetic cafĂŠ culture isn't as prominent in Milan, I was thrilled to stumble upon Signor Lievito, a true hidden gem.
My friend and I visited recently, and we were blown away by the delicious pastries and top-notch coffee. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, perfect for settling in with a good book. The staff were incredibly kind and took the time to explain the ingredients of each pastry, which I really appreciated. Prices were surprisingly affordable too, making it a great spot for regular visits. The limited seating could be a bit of a challenge on busier days, so Iâd recommend arriving early or being prepared to wait for a table. However, that minor inconvenience is definitely worth it for the incredible experience. I highly recommend trying the Pistachio Chocolate Pull-Apart or the Almond Pull-Apart â both are absolute musts! Iâm also looking forward to coming back and trying some of their lunch items, like their sandwiches, which looked amazing as well. Overall, I can't recommend this place enough for anyone looking for a laid-back cafĂŠ with great vibes, amazing pastries, and...
Read moreSignor Lievito is one of my favorite places in Milan for sure, especially Natalia and all her staff is amazing and friendly, not mention that anything you get sweet or salt is super delicious. Adding to the previous comments - as I also was presented during the situation I would like to underline that the only rude person was you. If you come here frequently you should know that there are a few numbers of tables as the space is small and the rule is that you wait to order, enter, order and pay and then take the first available table. Indeed we have already payed when we saw the woman rushing to the first available table without asking or saying anything and in very rude manner she said that we were obligated by law (which one?!?!) to give her priority sit. Say this we would be more than happy to do it for the gentle person in need if she kindly asked us for it instead of rushing to the table in a rude way. You receive what you give - if you are the first to be rude, donât respect others to be kind with you. Hope you will get better soon! The place and the staff...
Read moreNot worth the detour. In a city like Milan, where beauty often dazzles brighter than substance, some places lure you in with promises they fail to keep. This cafĂŠ, with its sleek design and tucked-away location, might lead you to believe you've stumbled upon a hidden gemâa modern Italian oasis far from the cityâs center. And, yes, it is beautiful. The staff is all you could ask forâattentive, endlessly friendly, with warm smiles that make you feel welcome from the moment you step inside.
But design and service are not enough.
I came for the pastries, for the coffee. And on that front, it failed. The pricing was fine, but the flavor? The cappuccino tasted like something borrowed from a Starbucks menuâsugary, diluted, stripped of any depth. The cinnamon bun, meant to be warm and inviting, was flat and devoid of life.
In a city that hums with the scent of freshly baked wonders, where pasticcerie hold treasures far more worthy, there are countless other places more deserving of your time and your taste. Keep searchingâMilan has much...
