L'Antica Bottega Modena — Restaurant in Modena

Me and my wife had very high expectations about Modena and its ragù. We went to Mercato Albinelli in the heart of Modena as it was suggested to us, unfortunately our thoughts were not matched at all as we had probably one the worse lasagna ever, dry and with little to none ragù sauce. Modena is a beautiful city and surely we will go back but we won't go back to L'antica bottega and I would not suggest to anyone to go even though the location is very cozy. Service was a little slow but everyone was very nice and polite that's why I did not give 1 star, prices are a little bummed but you can expect it due to the location very central...

It’s the perfect afternoon snack stop if you’re in Modena. Located at in mercato and given the beautiful weather I decided to stop and eat before training it back to Bologna. I ordered the mixed cold cuts and cheese for one. Though after wolfing down this portion I felt like I could’ve had another like that would be a little piggy. In the United States I don’t eat cold cuts. But here they are so yummy that I can’t help myself. I also added a glass of wine today....

Antica Bottega is truly a jewel at the Mercato Albinelli in Modena, and its owner Giuseppe is a very friendly person and an excellent host. He will offer you one of the best meals in this lovely market. In a very relaxed atmosphere you will feel the happiness from the Italian way of living, the dolce far niente, while you sip some delicious wine. Many thanks Giuseppe and I will return one day!
