Maison Livre — Restaurant in Modena

They usually let you stay outside or inside, I ask politely if I can stay for a long time with Laptop using the WiFi and they always say no problem. The waiter is friendly and does not intervene, leaving you alone and comfortable to just hang out. There is at least one big table (2 close tables) inside close to an outlet. It is also close to the Delfini library, I usually start working at the Library then head to Maison Livre for meetings on the outside tables, then end up inside charging my laptop and starting the night with aperitifs. The drinks, dolce and coffe are all great. In summer time try the cafe Shakeato before sunset comes. Then go with a magnificently made Negroni later on. You can ask for snacks to munch on included with your drink. As a minor improvement I would suggest outlets further from the bathroom. The waiter is sometimes too respectful that you have to wait to be served, so you won't be pressured to spend much while hanging out...

I asked for a menu and opened Pandora's box. No menu (because covid), but there are no menu on the wall, not even a single copy. You can open it through the QR code that I prayed to give me, and there was a menu on the site ... in pdf! The waitress was annoyed all the time, as if I was asking for something extra, it's just a menu. Part 2. The company's response confirms my one star. I know the rules of Italy during covid because I live in Italy, surprise. There was no one QR code on the table, I asked the waitress and she didn’t give me anything, I asked the menu inside the bar, there was no QR code either, and only after that the waitress ran up to me and took out one plastic strip with the phrase: especially for you!!! Hiding prices...

Terrible service, robotic, the appetizers were very lame, just a little bowl of olives and few chips when EVERY other bar in Italy gives you plenty to munch on with no extra cost. The washroom upstairs in half the size of the one of a plane, good luck if it is winter and you have extra clothes on.no interaction with the staff, not even to pay our bill, we had to use a self check out. We were sitting by the washroom downstairs and were forced to move to let customer in every time. Overall expensive and we did not see a single smile on...
