Tucked away in a quiet corner of Modena, this little restaurant might be easy to miss – its unassuming, no-frills appearance gives no hint of the culinary treasures it holds. But don’t let looks deceive you: the food here is nothing short of spectacular.

The pastas were flawless – cooked perfectly al dente, each bite transporting us to a place of homely comfort. There was a simplicity to the dishes that made them all the more delicious. We also tried the sliced beef and pork tenderloin with lemon, both of which were well-prepared, flavourful, and satisfying. But the true standout of the evening was the tortellini, especially the pumpkin variety.

This pumpkin tortellini was the best I’ve ever had, bar none. The filling was rich and velvety, striking the ideal balance between sweet and savoury. The light sauce complemented the filling without overpowering it, and the chewy homemade dough gave it the perfect bite. Every element came together seamlessly, delivering a truly harmonious experience for the palate.

What made the meal even more special was the atmosphere. We were probably the only travellers there, surrounded by locals – always a promising sign. The food wasn’t refined or flashy, but it was cooked with care, warmth, and a deep understanding of local flavours. It offered the kind of comforting taste that makes you feel instantly at home.

It's not the first time we've eaten here. Just everything about it is perfect. It's a little hidden gem we found in 2022 on our drive to Corfu from the UK and coming the same route this year we could not resist trying it again and we're not disappointed. They do have a menu in English and one of the staff speaks it perfectly 👌 Two beautiful mains a bottle of water, a bottle of Muscato and a chocolate and pear tart to share for 65 euros. Great value 👏. Would recommend booking as it is a popular restaurant with the locals and you can see why. Thanks again for a wonderful evening with your homemade food 😀 Pete and Sue from...

Totalmente da rivedere il servizio.

Arrivati al tavolo abbiamo atteso 30 minuti per essere serviti. ( ovviamente al sabato il locale era pieno però ho chiamato diverse volte il cameriere senza essere ricevuto)

Ordinato il bere non ci portano pane o grissini.( in teoria ci dovrebbero essere)

Iniziamo a ordinare diversi primi e il cameriere in tono scocciato ci dice che prendendo diversi primi ci sarà da attendere ( anche qui comprensibile, è sabato,il locale è pieno, di sicuro non è facile gestire ordini diversi, ma un tono più garbato e meno scocciato sarebbe stato gradito)

Abbiamo preso gnocco e tigelle e in più anche il pinzimonio, al momento del servizio si scordano olio sale e aceto. Ho aspettato 10 minuti buoni per riuscire farmi servire il necessario per il pinzimonio. (come servi il gnocco tigelle con il salume, anche il pinzimonio lo porti completo e non a metà)

Momento dolce ( per me amaro). I miei amici prendono i classici dolci, io mi sono lasciato consigliare dal cameriere la "torta cioccolata pere" che doveva essere una novità del momento (quindi ti aspetti un bel dolce). Invece arriva questa fetta di torta che visivamente non era il massimo, non si sentiva la pera e dulcis in fundo mi ritrovo un pezzo di stagnola/carta della torta che probabilmente era confezionato. Ho fatto notare il problema al cameriere e lui si è limitato a dire "vado a sgridare quelli in cucina"

Al momento del pagamento nessuno si è minimamente degnato di dire qualcosa. Conto salato

In conclusione, il cibo era nel complessivo buono, ma il servizio ha influenzato negativamente...
