Very nice, small Restaurant. We were here today for lunch. We went by the restaurant at 12:10, when, according to google, it should have already been open, but it still looked closed. We went by again half an hour later, then it was open. We were greeted by a friendly lady, who, when she noticed we were tourists, spoke to us in a quite good English. We were promptly seated, the restaurant just having opened and being half empty. The beverages came quickly, pizza didn't take much longer. The prices for the food are all right, the water/coca cola was quite cheap, which was great considering the 36° outside 😅 my boyfriends pizza with fish/frutti di mare was the most pricy one on the menu at 15€, but it came packed with clams and shrimp and tasted great. Pizza tonno was quite good, too. With the pizza we were offered an assortment of oils (olive oil, with lime or with pepperoncino). The bathrooms were clean and handicap-friendly. Only small complaint I could have: The tables had cutlery already prepared, individually wrapped in plastic for each guest, which I am not a big fan of, though I was told that's normal here. Still wasteful but doesn't take away from the good experience we had at...
Read moreWe only found this place by chance, wandering the back streets of Modica. We usually go to another place when we visit Sicily but this new-to-us restaurant was actually better. We shared a Caprese starter of mozzarella balls, delicious little tomatoes and basil. The hot bread sticks, freshly made that came with it were the best we've had in ages. We both had pizzas, very light but crispy dough all the way through, the toppings cooked to perfection. The only downside is that wine is only available by the glass or bottle, no option on a small carafe. We hope to return as the staff were excellent, the whole place was super-clean, light and airy. It was also very good value for...
Read moreIn the back streets where you'll find good eateries. As per the golden rule, never eat on the main street where the food is overpriced and of poor quality.
Unfortunately this restaurant didn't have the exposure or clientele to fill its' tables. The owner was very nice and took the time to explain why their pizza bread raising process is better than the traditional. She even explained how I could make it at home for that authentic taste. Usually the proprietor doesn't want to divulge their secrets, let alone chat with a client.
Do yourself a favour and give this place a go.......
