San Giorgio — Restaurant in Mola di Bari

We recently visited this Italian restaurant, and at first, the dining experience was very enjoyable. The staff were very friendly, spoke fluent English, and always checked to make sure our needs were met. We particularly enjoyed the local appetizers and pasta—both were excellent, and the prices were very reasonable.

However, we ordered a set menu for 25€, which was stated on the menu to include Primo (two kinds of pasta) and the "Entrecôte alla griglia“. But we didn’t receive the Entrecôte at all…

After finishing the meal, we asked the waiter why the Entrecôte wasn’t served, and he told us that the set menu only included Primo, no Entrecôte. (Apparently, the menu list it clearly it is with the „Entrecôte“…)We actually didn’t receive the caffè from the menu set either but we don’t mind this anymore, what happened already left us feeling very disappointed, even somewhat cheated.

For a restaurant being family-owned, this lack of clarity was a significant letdown for us. We originally had a very high impression of the restaurant’s food and service,( we really liked it at the beginning…) but this experience made us feel like our trust was misplaced. We hope this was just a misunderstanding.

Very sad unfortunately. Was supposed to be a perfect dinner….

Thank you for your prompt response and for acknowledging the issue. We appreciate your honesty and explanation. While we understand that unusual circumstances can happen, we still felt misled as customers, as the restaurant only offered this one set menu, and this was particularly puzzling since we had already received the appetizers and first course, yet the second course is missing…

Unfortunately, we do not live nearby, so we won’t be able to return in the near future. However, we hope that this feedback helps improve communication between the kitchen and service team to avoid similar situations in the future.

Despite this experience, we enjoyed the food and the friendly service. We also appreciate your willingness to address the issue, and we wish you all the best...

We had the set meal of the day. At €20 per person, you get 4 Antipasti, Primi, Secondi and coffee or amaro. We were offered 2 types of pasta for the primi and both were good. The secondi was a steak which is one of the best in Italy's considering the price. A good cut, and it was medium rare. Which is how a steak should be! (Most places serve it well-done which makes it tough). Service was great as I was introduced to the dishes they had on display and after every dish, we were checked on to see if everything was good. (I think our empty plates are a compliment to the food served). We add on half a litre of red wine at €5. Simple and delicious food at very reasonable price. Highly...

En helt igennem fantastisk oplevelse! Hvis du leder efter den autentiske oplevelse, så skal du besøge det her sted og tro mig, når du ser stedet, tænker du " måske jeg er gået forkert" (men det er du ikke)

Vi tog menuen til den nette sum af 25 €. Først kom der fem forskellige antipasti, som alle var friske og lækre, den røgede sværdfisk skal lige fremhæves, men alt var "spot on" Så fik vi perfekt risotto med zucchini og rejer. Den fiskefond der var brugt til retten var så lækker... Wow Så kom husets spaghetti med friske tomater og rejer. Perfekt al dente pasta og smagfuld sauce. Som hovedret var der scaloppine al limone eller Entrecote... her var bøffen helt suveræn og slog al limonen. Maden og servicen er helt utrolig god! Vi fik desuden vand, med og uden bobler, 2 x 1 1/2 l cola og én flaske hvidvin. Alt i alt...
