We had a good time at Resort Bufi. Let's just get one thing straight though: if you are looking for "package style" manicured sandy beach, buffet breakfast and days spent by a large pool/beach bar, look elsewhere - Bufi is "none of the above". But if you want a week away from it all in a good modern hotel and all basics taken care of, this is the place.|Resort Bufi is at the end of a curly pedestrian street, right on the sea front. There are just 5 rooms, we had the biggest one (Air), with extra living space but no balcony. Sea view is great, but you need to wake up early to see the sun rise. Fittings are all quite modern (e.g. touch switches), there is a safe box in the room in a secret location :) Plenty of hangers and drawers but no "close-door" wardrobe. Air con is good but we preferred to sleep with the window open, sound of the sea is quite relaxing! |Breakfast is served on the terrace (even better views!) and is fairly basic: they don't have a kitchen, so no "hot option": juice, yoghurt, fruit, pastries, prosciutto, cheese, boiled eggs - and coffee of course. If I were them, I would probably invest in a juicer to make them freshly squeezed and not from a bottle, but to be fair, even in the town they don't seem to serve freshly squeezed juice anywhere, perhaps it is just not the way it's done here.|The beach is small (5 rooms only!) and pebbled but it is private, which is a privilege in Italy. (It is in the shade in the afternoon, so we went on the terrace upstairs to bask in the sun.) There are free rubber shoes which my wife used a lot to get into the water. "Free" is the name of the game at Bufi btw: everything, from drinks in the minibar to beach towels and sunbeds to fins/snorkeling equipment to parking, is FREE! amazing.|Staff are nice: helpful but non-intrusive. Ivano speaks perfect English and is there most of the time if you have a question or need anything. For the others, it helps to know a few basic Italian words, e.g., to greet them or order your coffee the way you like it, but even if you don't, they do their best to understand you.|We thoroughly enjoyed our week off, by the clear waters of the Adriatic. It was towards the end of the season and I don't think all rooms were occupied at any point, but of course, we did...
Read moreHave just returned from a relaxing long weekend, at the end of the summer season in Molfetta. We were greeted by Ivano in the town square, and he directed us to the hotels private car park, where his father also awaited us, and transported our bags to the hotel.||To our surprise, we were upgraded to the large Aria suite, which was amazing! ||The room was large, airy and nicely separated via hall to lounge area, and bright and spacious bedroom. ||The bathroom had the best shower, and a fantastic tiled mural.||Fluffy robes, towels and slippers were provided.||||Breakfast was served up on the top floor, indoors if weather not so great or outdoors on the rooftop terrace. A continental breakfast, with fruit, cereals, eggs, pastries, juice and hot beverages was on offer, and did not disappoint. Nothing like a custard filled pastry and coffee to start the day! ||||The private beach had crystal clear waters, and although a stoney beach, Ivano had plenty of jelly shoes and snorkals to hand.||Bufi also had a great Jacuzzi, Turkish bath and shower room, downstairs. ||All free to use.||||Molfetta itself is a small coastal town, but has plenty of great restaurants, with great Italian dishes.||The weekend we were there, the town was celebrating a medieval festival, so the town square was alive!||||We had a totally relaxing long weekend, and Bufi Resort is a great secret hideaway, where you can listen to the waves lull you asleep.||Would highly recommend a stay in Bufi Resort, and a visit to Molfetta for a taste of Italian life.||||Thank you...

In the center of the quaint, lovely, friendly, and historical town of Molfetta, Puglia (IT), Only 25’ from Bari International airport, which is very convenient when you rent a car. Excellent and extremely tasteful place on the ocean, with the best homie Italian breakfast you can imagine. Beautiful views of the city and the Adriatic Sea. It has a private beach (that unfortunately we didn’t enjoy because the weather didn’t help), and a private garage as well, few meters away from the hotel. The very personal service from the kind staff and owners, make us feel as home. I have to make a special mention for Ivano! He was like a our big brother (but young enough to be our son), always taking care of us two. Trying to accommodate our needs, taking us wherever we had to go. Recommending the best places to visit around the area, making restaurant reservations, and showing us how to get to places easily. We will recommend this place to all of you that want to visit this amazing city in the gorgeous region of Puglia! We want to go back to Molfetta because the nice experience we had staying at...
