Altrove — Restaurant in Monza

3 years ago I have a 5 star however they are very very rude. It is unbelievable!!!! I have been a very frequent customer since 2018 however not anymore after my last attempt. Let me introduce Altrove: during lunch times, they have a fixed menu but you can still order from the normal menu. Over the years I noticed that some lunch and dinner items are do not taste the same (same food different taste). That have pages of pizzas on their menu (they have thin pizzas). What leads to today’s negative review: as always I called to make a reservation for me and my friend (please mind that this is not my first time). The person who upon the phone was not speaking English so he decided to close the phone while I was still talking. I called again to explain with my Italian but still when I was talking he closed the phone again to my face. I called them third time and again this rude guy answered the phone and close when I was speaking (if anyone wants, I have the proof). I was trying to speak Italian. This is discrimination. This behavior is not okay. The level of English needed to make a reservation is very limited yet he was rude. Nobody deserves this treatment. A quirky, but very nice restaurant. If you're seated near front of house the atmosphere is more "cafe" than restaurant, but if you get a table in one of their side rooms under the brickwork arches it's lovely.

Food choices were quite wide, with s lot of vegetarian stuff on the menu, though honestly the food quality could be a little more inspiring. My "vegan hug" dish was more "pat on the back" than "enamored embrace".

Price was fair, staff were great, though perhaps a little overrun.

Overall, not the greatest of places, but a very nice night out...

Abbiamo prenotato per 11 per festeggiare il compleanno di un amico. Lista delle pizze abbastanza lunga, c'è l'imbarazzo della scelta. Pizze sottilissime e impasto leggero, molto buone. Il resto del menù ha davvero poca scelta, primi, secondi ma soprattutto i dolci. A fine cena siamo giunti alla cassa. Su un totale di circa 200 euro, 3 di noi hanno pagato con carta, mentre gli altri 8 in contanti (20 euro a testa). Ci è stato dato un unico scontrino di circa 45 euro relativo ai pagamenti elettronici. La cassiera sosteneva che mancassero 20 euro che abbiamo poi dato. Rifacendo i calcoli qualcosa non tornava, quindi abbiamo chiesto gli scontrini dei singoli pagamenti in contanti. La cassiera si è rifiutata di darci gli scontrini poiché le nostre ordinazioni non risultavano a computer. Abbiamo insistito per gli scontrini, sostenendo quindi che avessero incassato 160 euro in nero. La cassiera ci dice: "siccome non voglio avere problemi vi ridò i 20 euro". Apre la cassa e ci restituisce i 20 euro in più che avevamo dato. Capisco che facciano un po' di nero con alcuni clienti, ma oltre a non fornire lo scontrino si mettono anche a rubare, mi sembra un po' esagerato. Chiamata subito la finanza... Non bisogna mai smettere...
