I never leave negative reviews, but I was so disappointed and unhappy with our experience tonight.
The food is outstanding, with the uni pasta being a highlight - but the service was poor.
We arrived and were sat at a table, we waited for a while before getting up to get our own menus. The manager eventually took our order, throughout dinner it was hard to get a waiters attention. The staff were busy chatting to each other.
After our starters were cleared, no one came to the table for 20-30 minutes, it wasn’t until we managed to get a waiters attention, that we realised the manager forgot to add our main course to the order - this was due to language barrier and completely understandable.
And this alone would not have been a big problem for us - there were a lot of opportunities to fix what would have been a minor issue.
We felt like an inconvenience to the manager, and unwelcome. When we flagged the issue, he acted with indifference, although another waitress was very apologetic.
It was 90 mins from when we sat at the table to when the we asked about our mains. The restaurant was very quiet while we were there.
Unfortunately I had to leave for a prior engagement as the pasta arrived at the table. (I had a forkful before I left - it was outstanding)
When the bill arrived, my partner complained about our experience. There was an offer of Amaro and coffee, after she complained about the bill.
The restaurant explained that the service was bad, due to “the change over of servers”.
I wish the service matched the quality of the food. The service is so at odds with what we’ve experienced in Naples.

We have the utmost respect for hospitality and restaurants, as it is a field we both work in currently, and have for over 20 years each.
I have tried to leave constructive feedback that can be used to avoid similar issues happening again - and the food really was outstanding.
We received the bill and explained that we were not happy with our experience. The amaro/coffee was offered after the bill had been dropped and after we complained. The discount does not matter.
The misunderstanding about the order is not the issue. It is the lack of attentiveness to the guest. Other tables sat at the same time had similar issues getting the attention of servers.
After starters were cleared, we sat for 20 minutes with no one to check if we wanted anything else, or ask how the food was.
Re dialect, I speak a small amount of Italian, and we're from London. I also use an app to translate to avoid issue. The waitress who spoke English fully understood the situation and was embarrassed for the experience and apologetic.
Judging from the other reviews, we were unlucky in our experience.
I would return if the person serving us was not looking after our table. I have amended the review to 3 stars, as 1 does not reflect the quality of the food...
Read moreI was hesitant to come here after reading other reviews about non-Italians/people of color having horrible experiences at this restaurant. I fought against it because my friends and I love seafood…but unfortunately those reviews were correct. DO NOT VISIT IF YOU ARE NOT WHITE.
The thing is, we weren’t even expecting great service, the restaurant was jammed packed with tourists and locals alike. So we knew it was going to be busy but our service was much much worse than anticipated.
After we were seated our waiter was quite rude and dismissive. It took him a while to even bring us menus. After we ordered he never came back to the table; we had to reorder our drinks on two separate occasions. We waited so long for our drinks we had to flag a bus boy about it in which our original waiter stopped the bus boy from bringing our drinks, but the bus boy brought them anyways. We watched as the waiter brought everyone else bread, napkins, and their drinks as he continually ignore us. We never got the bread basket. We never even got wet napkins to clean our hands after eating our seafood.
During our dinner, the bus boy understood our frustrations and was very apologetic. He apologized on the waiters behalf. Finally once we were ready to pay, we told the waiter that our “dinner experience wasn’t great and that we just wanted to be treated like everyone else” (in Spanish, my friend is Costa Rican, I’m Black, and my partner is Egyptian) he shrugged it off. When leaving, the bus boy once again apologized.
The waiter seriously needs some racial sensitivity training, promote and give a raise to the bus boy who was actually trying to rectify the horrible service our waiter. Service...

We are tourists and had an extremely disappointing experience here — not because the food was bad, but because of the way we were treated. The service was not just careless, but selectively so — and it left us feeling unwelcome.
The most telling moment came when we placed our backpacks on the empty chairs next to us, just like a white couple two tables over had done. When a new group was seated at the table between us, the waiter brought over extra chairs — but told only us to remove our bags, not the white guests. When we politely asked why, he pretended not to understand and avoided answering. Yet a few minutes later, he brought over another chair, showing he clearly understood and that space was not an issue. The double standard was blatant.
The rest of the service was simply poor: – We were initially seated at a dirty table and had to seat ourselves elsewhere. – A salad we ordered arrived without cutlery. – It took far too long to get the bill and even longer to pay (more than 20 mins after we ask for the bill). No one brought a card machine, so we had to walk to the restaurant exit to complete the payment. The older male waiter who handled it said absolutely nothing — not a word of thanks or basic courtesy.
We came on a Sunday evening, and were served by an older male waiter and a younger male waiter. Neither showed even minimal hospitality.
Reading past reviews, it's clear this restaurant often denies or excuses negative feedback. Let them try to do the same here — it won’t change the reality of how we were treated.
If you're not white, think twice before coming here. You...
