Pizzeria Osteria Manfredi — Restaurant in Naples

Unfortunately, we didn’t have a good experience at Pizzeria Osteria Manfredi. The service was okay, but most of the food was below average and disappointing.

We started with a fried plate to share — it was just fine, nothing memorable. For the mains, I ordered fried calamari and shrimp, and for the price, it was mediocre at best. My wife had the octopus, which was simply bad. It had a very strong, off-putting smell that didn’t seem right. When we mentioned it, the staff insisted it was normal — but we know how properly cooked octopus should smell, and this wasn’t it.

The only highlight was my daughter’s pasta alla Genovese, which was actually very good — but unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to save the overall experience.

We went as a group of four, and honestly, it wasn’t a great experience – the only dish that actually tasted good was the beef pasta, while the pizza was bland and came 5 minutes late, the seafood pasta was basically just mussels with no other seafood, and the entrecôte came with Lays crisps on the side, which I’ve never seen in a restaurant before and felt quite cheap. Although the house wine was nice and the terrace had a good vibe, we couldn’t even smoke at our table despite sitting outside, and what annoyed us was that the gents next to us were served properly with their courses spaced out, whereas ours all came at once despite ordering starters separately. Top-notch service. The waiter was friendly, he approached us as soon as we sat down, discussed with each of us what we preferred in food, and what we would like to try. Everyone in my family got exactly what they wanted. The food itself was incredibly delicious – octopus, mussels, shrimp, clearly prepared by professionals.
