Oh my good god this was an awful experience. Coming from great hospitality at Ischia, it was clear that this restaurant just wanted to squeeze some money out of stupid tourists. My wife and I wanted a snack and a glass of wine. We were wondering if they might soon close as it was after lunch and before dinner time. It was 1/2 full, and we were assured that this was not an issue so we sat down. We got the food and drinks (very mediocre) but they didn’t bother to change the paper cloth on the table which was dirty after last guest. We should perhaps have been suspicious, we were now the only guests and soon after we started eating they turned off the lights in the restaurant and the waiter looked at us in a “can you finish up soon so that I can go home” way. I asked why they hadn’t told us they were closing so that we could have gone somewhere else- no proper reply to that. When the waiter hastily cleaned the table for plates he managed to splash mozzarella juice all over my legs. After chugging the wine we couldn’t get away fast enough. Getting the bill we paid for full coperto (and why shouldn’t we pay for dirty, well used table paper cloth..after all we are just stupid tourists). The bill was higher than really nice, full lunches we have had. At least this experience made it easy to pick this holiday’s worst meal experience. Stay clear and go somewhere where they like...
Read moreThe whole experience was a joke. When we arrived, the waiter told us "two? sit here", without saying hello or whatever. When we ordered, they tried to sell us the daily fish with spaghetti instead of the gnocchis we wanted, because they "didn't have any gnocchis anymore". The fish was almost double the price, when we said we didn't want the daily fish, they suddenly find some gnocchis. They came back afterwards and told us, that the starter we chose was out of stock as well. So we chose something, which was really fine. But we git charged for the price of the starter we order which was more expensive as the one we received. When we finished eating, they wanted to get the bill as soon as possible, because they wanted to close, but there were a lot of other people still there. We were just half way down of our drinks at this moment. Oh and the spaghetti carbonara were really fat and oily, compared to all the good one we had...

Viviamo in un mondo dove molti locali si assomigliano, ma un giorno, ispirato da un'intuizione avuta da una guida turistica, mi sono trovato a pranzare in un posto che mi ha lasciato senza parole. È stata un'esperienza culinaria straordinaria. Qui ho riscoperto l'amore per la vera cucina, il rispetto profondo per la materia prima e un'attenzione al cliente che va oltre il semplice servizio. Non abbiamo neanche aperto il menù: ci siamo affidati a Ermanno, chiedendogli di sorprenderci. Si sa, solo un vero professionista riconosce un altro professionista, ed Ermanno si è dimostrato un padrone di casa eccezionale, capace di far sentire ogni cliente parte di una famiglia. Soddisfatti a tal punto, abbiamo subito prenotato per la cena del giorno dopo...E anche quella sera, Ermanno e tutto lo staff hanno reso l'esperienza indimenticabile. Ci hanno servito un pescato freschissimo, che sapeva di mare, preparato con grande maestria e senza banalità. Grazie di cuore per tutto....
