Briefly||I lived a nigthmare||This hotel contacted me to propose an ugrade: a better hotel (Relais il Monastero di santa teresa)||The building itself is really beautiful but...no reception, no staff after 8pm||||After having discovered at 10pm that right in front of my window there was a bar playing music extremely loudly, I contacted the staff via whatsapp.||They told me that night was the Notte Bianca when all the restaurants, bars, etc were open and allowed to play music, etc etc. ||I was there on a businees trip, it was clearly specified on my reservation. I needed to rest. I asked the to be moved o another room or another hotel (as they run a couple): No way. They told me they were trying to reach the local police but no answer and they did nt know at what time the music would have stopped.||I told them I needed to rest or I had to leave to hotel - they did nothing exept telling me they could finally talk to someone that said the music would be over soon...||At 11.30 approx I told them again i was leaving the hotel and the guy told me by phone finally he was coming and check the situation: at that time I was already out of the building, I made a couple of phone calls and finally found a room in Gallipoli (30 minutes drive) The company I work for paid for 2 rooms for the same person (me) for the same night. The day after they called me and told me the noise was not their fault and they asked the municipality for a refund as many of the clients complained the same way I did. I said ok, you wait for the refund from the city, i want to be refunded asap as I did not get what I expected and I had to leave as they could not manage the situation properly. I told them clearly. I'm not gonna write any bad review but I need to be refunded. I waited 2 weeks. Then I send an email ì, it was the 14th of June. So far, no one replied. This is how serious they are. Now, i don't even care about refund but please do not book there nor in the Monastero di santa Teresa, they are not...

Read moreWe arrived rather tired in Nardo after a long and early start from England. Sara, in reception, had arranged a pick up from the airport and was waiting for our arrival. She showed us our room which was quaint and delightful. It faced the 'main' little street and straight away the whole ambience of the old town could be felt. Our local, across the road, Italian neighbour was even playing us some delightful music to welcome us! The shower room was downstairs so we felt like our room was a little appartment. The bed was amazingly firm and Sara brought us a kettle and tea bits on request. The hotel is very small, only 6 rooms, and the restaurant is its main focus I sense. Our room was the basic double so I imagine that the upgrades are even more delightful. The hotel rooms are tucked away in different parts of the little hotel. The little courtyard entrance really invites you in.Reception times are from 9-12 and 4-8. Very reasonable we felt. Sara was always keen to give us information and would print off maps for us. Breakfast started at 8-10. The lady who cleaned our room and served breakfast was delightful and we had great fun using actions as Italian was not one of our spoken languages. Breakfast was delicious with lots of choice. There was enough to eat and always topped up. Sara was very helpful and sorted us our 'taxi man' to take us places at a very reasonable price. She had even offered to take us to one local destination if she hadn't been on duty. She is an absolute credit to the hotel and gave that little extra. Her English was excellent. Thank you again Sara for all your help. This little hotel is a real hidden gem and very reasonable in price. Breakfast was included. You can get half board for another 20 euros and if you chose from the excellent main menu there was 10% discount. Do remember to go up onto the roof teraces for some...
