Disappointed about this experience especially after the good reviews. Pasta alla Norma was without interesting flavor, by far the most boring one we had in all Sicily trips. The service was pretty much not existent - didn’t even ask if we want another glass of wine even it was obviously empty. Super sad because I really wanted to like this place.
To answer your very emotional review: it’s not the first time I have tried Pasta alla Norma and it’s okay that people have different taste. But I stick to my opinion - it was just not as tasty as in other places. Also the tuna didn’t have a crust. And the reason why I don’t tell something like this is a) because no one asked with interest and b) no one is interested in an emotional discussion like the one we have now in a restaurant.
And: Of course I can ask for a glass of wine but usually the waiter asks - this means good service at...
Read moreVery disappointed with this place sadly. We ordered two pasta dishes which were both inedible due to being so incredibly salty. But that’s not the reason for the 1-star review as I understand that often mistakes can be made with food. It’s mainly because the service was awful, and the way they dealt with our polite complaint about the food. They insinuated (in front of other guests) that it was actually us who were wrong about the food! There were max 7-8 other diners, yet it took forever for our food to arrive, to order and to pay (we were there nearly 2-hours for some water and a few spoons of salty pasta each). Plus, the place is very expensive for what you get, even if the food was edible. €4 pp coperto, €5 for water, etc. On top of this, the toilets smelt terrible and the staff were rude generally and made us feel awful despite our...
Read moreWe booked through TheFork with a 20% discount.
Ordered a bottle of wine, three Secondi, water, and dessert. Charged €5 for bread and olive oil, and €5 for water that wasn’t even Aqua Panna as listed.
The €26 fish fillet was tiny, mostly caramelised onion. Sepia with purée was great, and the other fish dish had a good portion.
The handwritten bill had €15 added across dishes, hoping we wouldn’t notice. We paid cash, and it wasn’t even fiscalised.
Food was solid, dessert excellent, wine very good—but trying to cheat a table spending €120 is pure disrespect.
After we pointed it out, they offered free Amaro shots. Too late.
Without the discount, prices would’ve been ridiculous for the portions. Shame, because the place and food were otherwise impressive.
