Trattoria Rossi — Restaurant in Olbia

It started so well. We are a family of five, two parents and three grownup children. A very friendly elderly waiter who took our food and drinks order. Jovial banter about my Italian accent. Four of five of our dishes arrived promptly, but 15 minutes later we had to ask about the remaining order, which took an additional 10 minutes to arrive. Our drinks - a bottle of wine and some soft beverages - didn’t come. We brought this to the attention of a waitress who sullenly asked what we wanted. I told her we had already ordered, and repeated what we had asked for. The level of service went down(!) from here, and our table was ignored for the rest of the evening, by all of the staff. We decided not to have dessert and politely asked for the bill which arrived. I showed my credit card, and thought someone would come with a payment terminal. No. After 15 minutes I got up to pay at the till. The food was very good, but the service was terrible. Anyone can make a mistake, but the manner in which the staff managed...

Our family spent the day at the beach, renting 4 chairs, 2 umbrellas snd also had lunch. The service was absolutely horrible! Trying to make an in-person reservation for lunch was ridiculous. 4 times the server told me to come back in 10 mins (during a 2 hour period), what a joke! By the time I was able to reserve, another server said oh sorry we are now fully booked (and literally 3 people right before me had successfully made reservations). Then the server was like, ok we will give you a table. Clearly they were picking and choosing who they wanted to serve lunch to!! WTH Awful. Then we sat for lunch. Yes beautiful view but again the service was non existant. By the time we ordered dessert, it took them 30+ mins to bring it to the table. And they only brought the dessert because they saw us getting up to leave to pay. Such a overall disappointing experience after spending over 250€, I don’t recommend coming here. There are so many beaches and places to eat around Olbia, don’t waste...

After walking the beach and having a great day, we decided to stop in for a cocktail on the patio. A fantastic breeze was blowing through while we enjoyed the views. My wife and I decided to ask about eating dinner there and we were told they didn't have availability. However, the super hospitable bartender, Graz, said he would set us up on the patio. As he was accommodating us, my wife mentioned it was my birthday and Graz immediately said he would find a way to get us into the main dining area for the dinner that evening. He even provided me a euro and a towel so I could use he shower outside before moving to the white table cloth dining area. We loved our dinner... Enjoyed the octopus, mussels, spaghetti vongole, and grilled calamari. Everything was absolutely wonderful. Service with multiple smiles, delicious food, great wine, and they provided a very nice birthday dessert as well. 5 stars all around. We are here for the week and I know this will be our hang out! Thank you...
