Trattoria Spaghetteria Roxy bar — Restaurant in Olbia

Food was reasonably priced. The ingredients were not as fresh as the best Sardinian restaurants that we tried but they were good enough. Given the price, however, the quality was undeniably high.

None of the staffs spoke good English, but like most Sardinian, they tried their best to accommodate their guests. Worst case, Google translate came to the rescue.

We ordered mussels, pasta and pork chop. The Sardinian mussels tasted, well, like Sardinian mussels - fresh, good size, springy. Not the best ones I had in Sardinia but not far off from the best. The pasta with fish roe was a acceptably salty. The pork chop was a cut with the gelatin skin, which was a surprise. It was not bad, given it was only EUR 8.

Parking near the restaurant was limited. We could find free parking in another street within 3 minutes walking distance though.

Sono un viaggiatore seriale, per lavoro. Un viaggiatore pacato in vacanza. Il locale l'ho provato diverse volte e non mi ha mai deluso, dotato di una buona cucina. Inizialmente era un bar che offriva piatti d'assaggio. Poi si è trasformato in trattoria utilizzando un locale adiacente al bar. Parliamo di cibo. All'inizio ho assaggiato un piatto di antipasti misti, che sono disposti su un tavolo di granito, a buffet. Quantità a volontà. Tutti gli assaggi sono risultati ottimi, con le cozze in bianco superlative. Leggermente passata l'insalata di mare pur se ampiamente sufficiente. Era disponibile anche un antipasto di salumi e/o formaggi, da tagliare sul momento. Ho visto messa a disposizione una straordinaria pietanza, il Caglio del Capretto, per chi è amante dell'avventura. Poi ho assaggiato delle orate (pescate) alla vernaccia, per questione di tempo. Buone, carne consistente e cotte a puntino, con ancora l'aroma del mare. Me le hanno presentate prima della cottura. Al conto ho aggiunto un dignitoso sorbetto, fatto con una macchina carpeggiani, un caffè, una bottiglia d'acqua. Costo € 20,00. Spesa ben meritata con un più che eccellente rapporto qualità prezzo. Ora descriviamo il locale: spazio poco ampio, sostanzialmente un camerone, con una trentina di coperti disponibili. Abbastanza luminoso. La posateria è economica. Tovaglioli di carta. Principale difetto: la mancanza del cambio delle posate tra le varie pietanze. I servizi igienici soro risultati piccoli ma puliti e con tutto il necessario. Le stoviglie erano sufficientemente pulite come il locale. Sicuramente da ri visitare. Adatto per incontri professionali e di amici, meno per motivi passionali, data la ridotta privacy..... Locale vicinissimo...

Food is correct and waitress speaks many languages. This is a "restaurant-bar" for locals, no english menu. We were 4 persons and asked to split the bill, the waitress said it is not possible and that one should pay for all of the bill if we choose to pay by credit card (first time I see this) and that we should asked for it before...
