Hostaria Antica Posada — Restaurant in Ostuni

So far this was the strangest dinner in Italy. We got to the restaurant at about 7:30-8:00. There were a few people in the restaurant setting up equipment. We asked for a table and they walked us through the dining room to a room off to the side where there was a small bar, the bathrooms and a coat room. It was away from all of the other tables. The Service was OK, the food was not. The orachette I ordered was so salty it was inedible. I told the waitress in broken Italian that the pasta was too salty, and she just shrugged her shoulders.My husband had a large hunk of fat in his bland, sliced steak. Then the guest started arriving. They must've been having some kind of a special event or party because people kept streaming in to where we were seated to hang up their coats and the music was loud. To leave the restaurant we had to maneuver our way through the party of people. It was very awkward. We would've rather have been told that they were closed for a special event. We would've gone elsewhere and for sure gotten...

This place is straight up good. Wife and I stayed and ate here. Rooms are fine, good air conditioning when its hot out. Food: Get the antipasto for 2, the only one on the menu! Thats because every damn thing in the kitchen is on it! It comes in waves, it starts slow but, I think by the end we had 5 or 6 plates of APPETIZERS! Nuts. We had the pasta w clams and then octopus, which were both really good. But w the appitizer/antipasto we should have had one, not both. Oh yeah the 2 waiters were really good. The diner experience is oké. The entrance is a little bit hard to find, but left to the hotel entrance. There were only a few people there for diner. The food was good, but compared to other restaurants a limited quantity. Ostuni is more touristic and that is really noticeable (although this restaurant is located outside the city, own parking place). I would rate the food a 4 star. Experience a 2 star.
