Having visited Sicily several times and growing up in a Sicilian household, I've tried countless pane panelle and pani c’a meusa, and this spot beats them all. The atmosphere is authentically local, with friendly people and fresh, hot food made to order.
The panelle is perfectly crisp, not oily, and the meusa (or milza) is incredibly tender. The rich flavor of the meusa with caciocavallo cheese—a fantastic combination.
The sandwiches come with lemon and salt, but extra lemons are on the counter if you like more. I highly recommend trying either sandwich and washing it down...
Read moreI'm writing this review in the name of my partner, who wanted to have a real local street food experience. :D This is a tiny place with some simple outdoor seating and everything is fast, the service, people eating and queuing up. Partner went for the 3 euros bun. He had no idea what was in it, he just wanted it as you could see school kids, men in suits and every kind of other locals getting their buns and enjoying it with a beer. My partner loved it, he couldn't tell what kind of meat was filled the bun with, but shoved it in his mouth...
