Al Chioschetto Pani Ca' Meusa — Restaurant in Palermo

Having visited Sicily several times and growing up in a Sicilian household, I've tried countless pane panelle and pani c’a meusa, and this spot beats them all. The atmosphere is authentically local, with friendly people and fresh, hot food made to order.

The panelle is perfectly crisp, not oily, and the meusa (or milza) is incredibly tender. The rich flavor of the meusa with caciocavallo cheese—a fantastic combination.

The sandwiches come with lemon and salt, but extra lemons are on the counter if you like more. I highly recommend trying either sandwich and washing it down...

I'm writing this review in the name of my partner, who wanted to have a real local street food experience. :D This is a tiny place with some simple outdoor seating and everything is fast, the service, people eating and queuing up. Partner went for the 3 euros bun. He had no idea what was in it, he just wanted it as you could see school kids, men in suits and every kind of other locals getting their buns and enjoying it with a beer. My partner loved it, he couldn't tell what kind of meat was filled the bun with, but shoved it in his mouth...

Era stata una già una bella serata. Io e mia figlia abbiamo preso, io un panino con la milza, lei un panino con panelle e crocchè. Lei, mi ha poi detto, papà non ho mai mangiato un panino, così buono. Da una giovane che gira tanti posti con gli amici, fa un certo effetto..Ha poi notato la maestria con cui hanno preparato il mio panino con la milza, privo di olio, nonostante svuotato di mollica. Un bel limone intero a corredo ha reso il mio panino, stracolmo di buonissima milza, qualcosa di impareggiabile. Direi che la serata non poteva andare meglio di...
