We tried to book table online over their website - first of all, info they are taking are excessive (they don’t need my birthday or zip code for booking), but ok… You get WhatsApp msg that booking was done which is very nice but then you need to wait for confirmation if there is space available - which was not the case for us. We book for 6.30 for dinner inside but the answer we got was: “ Ciao, date le numerose richieste, al momento non è più possibile effettuare ulteriori prenotazioni per la data da richiesta. ☹️
Prova per un'altra data. Grazie 🙏 ❤️

..regardless, we passed by at 6.30 to try our luck, and guess what - there were seats available, inside and on the terrace. lol. However - we were not able to make an order till 7pm, as the kitchen was not open. No problem, we sat outside and had few drinks. We couldn’t understand why everyone around us had plates with food while the kitchen was not open, but ok… no one was able to explain as well.
We got bowl with chips, peanuts and olives to snack with our drinks while waiting for kitchen to open. Olives were great, meaty, tasty. Yum. But that was it. At approx 7.10 we asked if kitchen opened, and was finally able to order anything but pizza as for pizza the kitchen was closed for another half an hour. Ok, no problem for us. We ordered calamari, and we will order pizza when we finish.
Calamari came looking good. Portion size like fine dining instead of pizzeria, but ok… problem is when you start eating. Calamari were like rubber. Chewy like a gum. Unbelievable. But ok… it’s not easy to make good calamari.
We went to the bar to order for pizza, as again - no one was coming to see us.
We ordered their version of Margarita - what could go wrong with Margarita, right?
Firstly, it took another half an hour to make this pizza. Then, you can clearly see how the pizza is made. One chef is making the dough while the other is adding the ingredients. But in our case, the was the waiter. Adding the ingredients after the pizza was made, with his bare hands… bon appetito. Dough was bit chewy as well, but edible. Pizza nothing special. I ate better pizza in the bakery in north of the Italy… Shame. Truly a shame. Waste of time and money.
The reason I am giving a two star instead of one is the waitress. One amongst the guys working there. She was professional from start to the end. Sorry she is working in such an...
Read moreWe searched for places to eat on Google and came across Sikulo, it had good reviews and the menu looked great. We went to the restaurant but unfortunately it was fully booked, bare in mind it's a Monday night, however they managed to fit us in for an hour. We quickly realised why it gets fully booked, the food was delicious. For our starter we had a sharing platter of cheeses and cold meats, there was a great selection of both I don't usually like blue cheese but decided to try some, it was mild and creamy. For Main my partner had sesame coated salmon and I had the pork shank, both were cooked well and tasted great. We were sat next to where they were cooking the pizzas, they looked and smelt amazing. The staff were very efficient in the way they were serving, it was like a ballet. Special mention to Frederica who was our server, she was friendly and helpful and we felt very welcome, also would like to mention the two ladies on the door who gave us the opportunity to eat in this restaurant, I unfortunately did not get their names. By the time we left at 9pm both inside and outside was full, I would say mostly local residents frequent here and possibly few tourists so booking in advance is advisable if you want...
Read moreOverall a very nice restaurant with good seating and a decent menu. We got the pizza and sea urchin pasta, (would pass on the sea urchin in the future). I would recommend this restaurant if you want a more fancy dinner, as the prices are a bit on the higher side.
Detailed: Definitely one of the best pizzas in sicily! We tried the pizza with 4 random slices, and it was amazing. The dough was perfect and the topping combinations were unique but still authentic and not overly powerful. I really recommend this dish as it gives you a taste of everything (especially if you can’t choose which pizza you want!). My favorite was the fig and gorgonzola slice!!
We were not a big fan of the Sea urchin pasta because we found it a bit too salty. This was mostly preference, and I am sure others would enjoy more as it wasn’t a bad dish, just didn’t float our boat.
desserts: Honestly the desserts were good but not worth the price. Would probably go somewhere else and not get the desserts again . Staff was ok, service was a bit slow but all understandable as they were busy.
I give 7.5/10, but 4/5 because of how good...
