Il Nonno Pescatore — Restaurant in Pescara

A family owned seafood restaurant ran by real local fishermen of Pescara! The menu consists of what the daily fresh catch brought in. So, there is a natural, varying and limited offer of what's available, but exactly this is what makes Nonno Pescatore so very special amongst the typical fish restaurant. Besides the freshest fish and seafood you'll probably ever have in a restaurant, the local chefs serve you typical Abruzzese style seafood of outstanding quality and taste. If you plan a visit, I'd highly recommend you to start with the Antipasti "crudo" (it's raw and the best example of Abruzzese seafood), "freddi" (cold), and "caldi" (warm). Then, as a first course, choose any kind of pasta they offer today, and last but not least, end your dinner with one of the best "Frittura di paranza" (fried and battered seafood) you can get in Abruzzo. True, the wine menu is not the biggest, nor is it -in general- very well selected, but also here I'd warmly recommend you to order the local white wine named "Pecorino" to your food. A friend of ours (born in Pescara, now living in Holland) recommanded this restaurant. We had dinner on 28/7/22 and what a treat! Truly nice service, attentive and very friendly. Antipasto was excellent, the pasta really good. Fresh fish, oysters, langoustines and ingredients accompanied by a bottle of Pecorino. Bruno, Fillipo and the chef; great team and food! Si ok tutto buono come dicono in tanti, però nessuno ha specificato che per portare 5 porzioni di antipasto ci mette un’ora. Poi 40 minuti per portare il primo (anche scarso in quantità dato che era una ciotolina per due persone che neanche ne avrebbe saziata una).... UN’ANGOSCIA. Questi sono i tempi e lascio a voi il giudizio. Ho girata per lavoro centinaia di ristoranti in tutta italia per anni e qualcosa ne capisco. Avrei ordinato per fame il secondo ma ero stremato di aspettare ancora. Il cameriere si è scusato, il proprietario neanche ha fatto la mossa di scusarsi offrendo come si fa di solito qualcosa da bere anche se non avrei accettato perche sono astemio. Non accetto tale incompetenza e non ci sono scuse. Se fai aspettare le persone al ristorante sei un INCAPACE! Io non amo aspettare tutto questo tempo perché mi innervosisco e mi passa l’appetito.
