Appalling Experience — Aggressive Staff and Shocking Customer Service

This was, without question, the worst experience we've had anywhere in Italy — and we've travelled extensively across the country and the world. What began as a simple visit to enjoy ice cream turned into a distressing and confrontational encounter that left our children shaken and us deeply unsettled.

Ice Cream Tasting Policy: Despite ordering six ice creams and a crepe for our group of five, we were told in no uncertain terms that we could only sample one flavor (2 children in our group). Any additional tasting would cost €0.50 per spoon — regardless of the size of our order. The tone used to enforce this policy was unnecessarily curt and unfriendly.

Napkin Rationing: We were given just three small napkins for five people. When we asked politely for more, we were brusquely told to get them from the toilet. This isn’t just poor customer service — it’s unhygienic and disrespectful.

Aggressive and Abusive Behavior: When I gently pointed out that the crepe appeared undercooked, the owner immediately began shouting and demanded I bring it to her. As soon as she raised her voice and became aggressive, we decided to leave calmly. Shockingly, the owner and her husband began shouting even more aggressively as we exited — in full view of other customers and passersby. Our children were visibly distressed, and a crowd gathered outside witnessing the scene.

This kind of unprovoked hostility is completely unacceptable. It goes beyond poor service — it felt abusive and intimidating. We left our food behind and walked away to avoid further confrontation.

We have documented evidence of this incident and will be reporting it to the relevant authorities.

For your own peace of mind — avoid this place. We wish we had read the reviews before entering this place. There are many wonderful, welcoming businesses in Italy. Sadly, this is not one of them.

Update- Dear shop owner, further to your response below, I can confirm that my review is based on facts and I would welcome you sharing the video footage online - your behaviour towards me and my family was disgusting- shouting and yelling at us all because I said I thought the crepe was under cooked and then becoming even more aggressive as we chose to exit your shop- did you actually think that we would continue to sit and be subjected to your abuse?! My priority was to keep my kids safe - they were shaken and in tears- they have never seen anyone behave in this way. Based on all the genuine reviews of your place on Google and the response to Facebook post that I published, it’s seems that your abusive behaviour towards customers is not uncommon- seems like it’s been going on for years. This review will not change your behaviour, but it may help other visitors make informed decisions, I would not want anyone to experience what we did. ❌ Worst experience we've had in Italy — avoid this place.

We visited with our family (2 kids included) and ordered 6 ice creams and a crepe. Despite that, we were told we could only taste ONE flavor — any more would cost €0.50 each. Seriously?

We were also given just 3 tiny napkins for 5 people and told to get more from the toilet. Completely unhygienic and rude.

The worst part? When I politely mentioned the crepe seemed undercooked, the owner shouted at me to bring it over. We decided to leave our ice creams and exit as it felt unsafe but she and the man became even more aggressive, yelling at us in front of other customers and passersby. The man tried to come after us but was stopped. Our kids were shaken, and people on the street were watching the scene in disbelief.

I’ve never experienced anything like this — we have photo/video evidence and will be reporting it to local authorities.

Fui na Gelateria hoje 2 de julho de 2025, por volta das 16h. Acompanhado da minha tia que mora na Itália há mais de 15 anos. Fomos atendidos por uma senhora brasileira que identificou que somos brasileiros e começou a falar italiano e português. Ela nos atendeu PESSIMAMENTE mal. Com sinceridade: depois de 20 dias de férias na Itália é inacreditável ter sido atendido bem tantas vezes por italianos super queridos e ser mal tratado justo por uma brasileira! A senhora implicou porque minha tia encostou numa casquinha que possui adesivo de preço, justamente porque ela queria girar a casquinha no mostruário pra ver o adesivo do preço. A senhora disse: “não pode tocar, aqui na Itália eles são chatos com isso”. Gente!!! Uma casquinha ao lado do caixa, de mostruário, com um ADESIVO DE PREÇO!!!!!!!!! Eu não consegui acreditar que ela implicou por causa disso. “Aqui na Itália tem regras de limpeza, não pode tocar!”. Sem acreditar no que eu tava ouvindo, comentei com minha tia: “do jeito que ela falou até parece que eles vão comer isso no fim do dia, né tia?” e ela percebeu que falei algo. A partir daí, a senhora ficou INSISTINDO com a minha tia: “o que ele disse?”, “o que ele falou?”. E ela não sossegou até minha tia dizer: “a senhora quer saber o que o meu sobrinho me disse em particular?” Cara, uma senhora metida, grosseira e inconveniente. Eu nunca fui tratado de uma forma tão horrível antes!!! A mocinha que serviu o gelato era querida demais, era loira e mais nova. Foi super simpática. Mas a senhora brasileira de cabelo preto tá buscando confusão, e um dia ela vai encontrar.

Eu jamais seria LOUCO o suficiente de contratar uma pessoa assim. Mas como ela mesmo nos mostrou, e outras avaliações aqui mostram também, ela tá preocupada com a nacionalidade das pessoas e não com quem está no local pedindo o gelato.

Só digo uma coisa: é uma questão de tempo até essa bendita encontrar alguém com a pá virada!

Não volto nunca mais nesse lugar e minha tia (que mora no Itália!!!) com certeza vai fazer questão de não recomendar esse local pra todo mundo que ela conhece. Lamento! Foi horrível.
