Essentia — Restaurant in Pescocostanzo

Exceptionally good food - best restaurant in Pescocostanzo by far. We chanced upon this restaurant having walked around Pescocostanzo and having tried several other restaurants in the town over the years. What an incredible find it was! All the food was absolutely delicious - I have honestly never had such good pasta in my life - and I've sampled a lot within Italy. The presentation of the food was exquisite (see photos) and the service was very good; friendly and welcoming staff who take pride in their food and are attentive. This is a Michelin star quality restaurant but without the pretentious service or price tag. It's very good value. We liked it so much we returned the following evening, for another excellent meal. We can't wait to return next time we're in...

A posteriori devo dire che la mia esperienza parte male già dalla prenotazione dove mi viene detto che potrò fare il 'turno' delle 13 o delle 14.30.... ma che siamo in fabbrica? Arriviamo e il locale era freddo tanto da costringerci a restare con la giacca, ma ci sta... è tutta colpa di Putin... Ordiniamo 2 antipasti e 2 primi, neanche il tempo di andare in bagno a lavarsi le mani che arrivano gli antipasti evidentemente non preparati al momento, ma ci stà abbiamo pensato.... dobbiamo fare spazio al turno delle 14.30... A ruota arrivano i primi, la chitarra al pecorino era scotta, fredda, insapore, le pappardelle al cervo solo fredde e scotte.... In questi locoli (con primi a partire da 18€) ho sempre pensato di venire a fare un'esperienza di gusto e non solo per mangiare, ma qui siamo ben lontani anche dalla ristorazione più basilare... Non contenti decidiamo di farci del male con il dolce al cioccolato e gelato dove veramente abbiamo toccato il fondo, una ciambella secca sbriciolata con del gelato a caso, ma veramente????
