Trattoria del Borgo — Restaurant in Pisa

I never write reviews, but this restaurant was so bad and disappointing that I decided to share my experience and tell everyone to avoid this place!

As an Italian (from Pisa) I was shocked by the low quality food served in this place. Myself and my friends did not manage to finish our food, which was totally inedible.

This place is not even capable to provide a simple pasta dish. Starters were ok but pasta was simply horrible, over cooked and too salty! Crostini were just a bunch of toasted sliced baguette with RAW tomato on top. No oil, no herbs, no pepper or salt, nothing. I actually had to ask for oil and seasoning.

Finally, when I complained about the food quality and shown that my plate was still full I have been told that because I ate a bit it was not refundable.

I would never eat again here even if you paid me....

In centro a Pisa locale "acchiappa-citrulli" per turisti sprovveduti! Ci siamo fatti ingannare dal nome accattivante e dalla voglia di mangiare qualche piatto semplice di quelli fatti in casa e dal costo accettabile invece è uscita una serata tutta da dimenticare in un posto dove non metteremo più piede. Una porzione misera e servita in un piatto triste di gnocchi che dovevano essere al lardo gorgonzola fuso e miele si è trasformata in gnocchi a bagno di un liquido biancastro, freddo e dolciastro, dal gusto vomitevole. Stessa tristezza nel presentare due verdure grigliate e un piattino di patatine fritte. Costo del vino sfuso e del coperto alle stelle per gonfiare un conto oltre misura, menù non corrispondente a quello indicato su "thefork", il portale su cui abbiamo prenotato e infine, come massima scorrettezza, ci è stato impedito di pagare con la App "thefork" con la scusa di non essere più convenzionati con "thefork"...ma scherziamo? Del resto un locale che il sabato sera riesce a occupare un terzo dei tavoli deve far pensare, in un posto dove tutti fanno sold out. Bene così, Speriamo che queste recensioni vi aiutino a trovare un altro lavoro e che "thefork" faccia giustizia levando la convenzione a un locale a dir poco imbarazzante...

A most excellent pasta house! Al Dente pasta, fresh hand made mozzarella, pristine veggies, and local guanciale! We visited Pisa from Florida.
